Uh, he's better than Jason Strudwick. That's how it helps us.

Glad to move Bäckman. He was never going to develop into anything in St. Louis. Can't complain about the return.
Hopefully for the Rangers, you have better luck with getting him to use his undoubted talent.

Good trade for the Rangers? Only if Backman benefits from a change of scenery. He is soft, overpaid, and not defensively sound at all.

A solid defender, IMO. He never developed in STL, hopefully he will fit in New York.

Not really, we have Polak, Woywitka and Wagner (when he heals) who are all 3 better than Backman and just as good as Salvador.

Yeah, we are really hurting. How will we make it next year with this...
Jackman-Erik Johnson
Brewer-Polak
Mckee-Woywitka
FYI
Rangers Fans : Devils got one of our best defensemen of the year...and you guys got our worst D-men of the year.

I can't believe somebody actually took Backman and his 2.5 mill off the Blues hands, and gave a draft pick.

With him making $3.4m next year (not sure of the cap hit), we were going to struggle to get much for him. A third was probably the very most we could have hoped for, a fourth is a good deal.

He is making 3.4 next year ? Heck, I would have given the Rangers our 4th instead of the other way around just to take him off our hands.
