I wish i could format this better to make it wider and shorter but i cant figure out. Any suggestions on how to fix it would be appreciated.

Quote:
From sabresfan129103:That being said, kalinin is known to have defensive blunders from time to time. It just seems like when he makes one is ALWAYS ends up in the back of the net. He was brutal last season in the ottawa series. He's a decent d-man who can play top 4 minutes, and his price tag isn't that high (which is always good for a small market team)
Quote:
From lovdaslug: Kalinin's is a solid puck-moving defenseman, who is not afraid of jumping in the rush and will do so provided there is adequate coverage.
Defensively, he is decent.
His biggest weakness IMO is his massive confidence swings. When he's playing with confidence, he is a solid #4 D-man. When he isn't, he can be a nightmare.

I feel that he has earned a spot on the big team, but he would be ineffective and misused on the 4th line, which is the only place he would fit when everyone is healthy. If used on the wing, then maybe he could find a spot on the third line and be moved around in case of injury. I love watching the hustle and work ethic he brings in EVERY game he plays.

Quote:
From flamesfan12 :I wanted to resign him, but right now I'm not a huge fan of his. Some pretty brutal efforts lately (although that could be said about everyone). If he signs for a reasonable price then keep him, but if he wants to much ship him out at the deadline or offseason.
(L) Huselius, Kristian
Quote:
From Phaneufed: He's all yours. Unfortunately he'll be asking for 5 mill+, and Flames have no cap room for him. It will suck losing him though.

From Flamesfan12: I think he is gone at the deadline. Just to inconsistant and hopefully someone is willing to overpay in a trade to get him.

From Phaneufed: Will definitely resign a Flame. He'll take a hometown discount, and will likely sign for 1 mill or so.

I'd love for us to trade Liles for Jackman
I would want them to trade for:
1. Kaberle
2. Boyle
3. Jackman

The Players that are italicized and bolded are players that could come here and immediately make a diffrence, be it shoring up the D and/or adding intstant offense.
Players that are just bolded could come and produce but just singing one of them wouldnt make that big of an impact.
Just my opinion and was just wondering that of some of the seinor members of this board.
Do you agree with my evaluations? Does your opinion differ?
Now i know a lot of this depends on how all the teams finish and how the playoffs workout but as of now what are your thoughts?
I honestly want to discuss what free agents should we get ready to start pursuing in the Off-season?
Maybe myself and a couple other posters can together make a reasonable list, narrow this one down, to only the Free agents that the bruins would be interested in. Keep stats, expected salary earnings, and other important facets to the players game.

I haven't actually seen him play much lately and maybe he is having problems being a go to guy. His first year in the NHL he was Prongers side kick and he totally excelled in that role. He plays the same rugged game a Komisarek or McLaren players and I think a pairing of him and Chara would scare the hell out of any top line.
i would have been saying get Jackman too till i heard he has already turned down a 4 mill per year offer and is looking for more. Not worth those bucks when he isnt on the ice with pronger.
truthfully if Bergeron comes back as himself we really wont be needing much of a change come this ufa season.
is there a need to sign an ufa center and take away playing time from Savard/Bergeron/Krecji/Sobotka? Which of these 4 are we unhappy with for next year? I love Metropolit's play this year but do we want him taking time away from these 4?
Getting Bergeron back into our lineup will go along ways to adding some offense... and so will another year of development for Kessel and krecji
speaking of Kessel... we kind of have to let him get icetime and Kobasew has done nothing to show us his icetime isnt deserved. Murray is overpaid to be a third liner but if we can afford it, this is the type of depth that wins championships. Let Karsums try to battle Nokolainen for icetime and someone is losing out that we feel is NHL worthy. Thornton provides muscel depth and we are stacked on rw
It doesnt get any more shallow on LW... who do we sit to add a UFA here? Sturm wont lose his spot as a 30 goal guy making under 4 mill. Lucic shouldnt be sacraficed to add an ufa. Axelsson serves his purpose. I suppose Schaeffer didnt do the job we asked of him this year, but if he goes we have kids ready to step into his spot. Soderberg is likely to show up at camp. Marchand will be wanting to step into the NHL. Reich is even signed to an affordable deal to provide energy.
We are pretty loaded and could always consider bringing Chistov back too or might have Hamil show up after a great summer and surprise us at camp.
on D... there is an argument we could actually be looking to upgrade. If Ward decides to leave or if we part company with him on our terms then we will definitely be needing to add someone. I personally project Stuart to be a regular top 4 guy next year but if management doesnt agree with me we will have a hole in the top 4 to be adding a guy even if Ward does come back.
Ferrence was shaky enough this year, we might want to upgrade on him if our cap allows it.
I think Lashoff has a good chance to battle Alberts for a spot if everything else stays status quo.. definitely we have a need for more of a mobile guy in the 5/6 depth spot then a big guy who cant fight.
wouldnt shock me though to see whatever trade we make at this deadline be for a dman and leave it at that.
and even though many of us here want fernandez to be a bad dream... the dude does have talent and there are political reasons why it would be best to let him get some healthy time in our nets next year. dont expect him to go anywhere till he gets his trade value back up
so in effect... we are getting two trade guys or ufa guys back into our lineup... bergeron and fernandez are big names... big talents that we had to play this entire year without... just getting them back is a huge improvement and letting all the kids have another year of development.
we are a decent team already but we are getting better just thanks to time without lifting a finger in either the trade market or the ufa market
Can you give me a quick rundown on his style of play?

Edit-Not bad for someone who is a 7th round pick.
Right now he is making 1.225M so I can see him going somewhere around 2m.

Sounds like pj axellson with more offense. Definatly who id want playing for my team.
Do you know his linemates for this year, and do you mind quoting you so i can put it in the original post like i did with a few other people?

$2 million tops you say? For a guy on pace for 60+ points?
Is that the deal you signed him to on XBOX360 or something?
He's worth at minimum $3 million in this market, and will probably get more, around $3.5-4, because he's young to boot.
Hell, Sturm makes $3.5 now, and Vrbata's outproducing him in every aspect. He's probably looking at a deal with a $4 million AAV.
Not a bad secondary option if we can't get Hossa, but he's not the frontline talent we need.

As is, i dont think our team is good enough to compete. In a lot of posts i see us rating our team as half NHL, half AHL players. I think the spot your talking about, where all those players are ready to come to the NHL, is next trade deadline. I honestly think they need 1 more year to make an impact in our team.
Guys like Nokie, sobotka, allen,
are guys that i think need at least another year in the ahl to fine tune their game. Are they good as is, yes. But the pressure of them having to produce on a team that has of late been hard pressed to find offense might start to take its toll.
As good as bergeron is, i dont think having him back will make us a deep playoff team.
Therefore, i think we could benefit greatly from 1 major UFA signing or a couple minor ones.
