GDT 1/5/08 - Carolina Hurricanes @ St. Louis Cardinals

EDIT: By 07 I mean 08

Leighton goes again. I don't like it one bit. He came up, did what a backup was supposed to do and got the win, but now what? Is the idea to ride him until he has a Grahame style implosion?

Stillman Brind'Amour LaRose
Whitney Staal Cole
Adams Aucoin Hamilton
Brookbank Letowski Nolan

Kaberle Seidenberg
Gleason Commodore
Wesley Borer

1. Leighton
2. Ward

Andy McDonald and Barret Jackman expected back for St. Louis, who have lost 5 out of their last 6 and have struggled to score lately.

Where'd you hear Leighton gets the nod? That's a really weird call. He's the clear backup and Ward is fine so why would he get two starts two nights in a row

This isn't airing on Hockey Webcasts, and my TV won't be working until Thursday. Does anyone know of an online stream for the game?

I agree, bad call on the goaltending tonight. Should definitely go back with Ward, this move is not helping him or us for the remainder of the season. I didnt think Leighton looked that great last night anyway. Cam is the goalie, and should be in the net unless he is injured.....

I dont think we are going to be starting Leighton down the stretch, so I dont know what the point is here....

Borer needs to replace Kaberle on the PP for the entire night....the only D on the PP should be Borer and Seidenberg...Kaberle is useless....he never shoots the puck and Borer cant be any more of a defensive liability than Kaberle

What is going on? Why am I talking to myself here??? One quick question....does anyone think that Cole will score tonight against a good defensive team? Prop bet....

Wow, **** like that makes me mad. Talk about misusing a goalie. Sure Leighton played well for 2 and change periods but he is NOT deserving of taking away Cam's time (especially on a back to back) unless Cam is hurt. What a ridiculous decision.

How good is Borer's offensive game? I liked what he did on the pp last game, but should we expect a consistent production from Casey?

He was never touted as an offensive guy but has put up good numbers so far in his pro career. Not sure where it's coming from so I wouldn't expect it to continue but it's a nice surprise. I think the potential for him to keep putting up these numbers is pretty good though, he makes a very nice outlet pass.

Good first shift resulting in an early pp. Aucoin is out with the first unit again, kind of weird but it worked last night so I guess I can't complain.

So much for that one. But at least he's doing his job.

Wade Brookbank just discovered why he was in the lineup. That fight was not impressive

second consecutive fight now. Adams!

nice smile from Lavi after the fight

Now Adams and Hinote go at it right off the faceoff! And he didn't get killed this time!

Too bad the refs stepped in early on the Brookbank fight, they're not done for tonight I bet.

Wasn't really Wade's fault the linesmen stepped in. If he stays away from King the rest of the night then we can blame him, but the two will probably go at it again.

Was Chad LaRose really the best choice to talk about all the young guys comming up? 50% of the callups are older than him.
