Iginla fighting with his visor on

Isn't this a penalty? Why doesn't he ever get penalized for fighting with a visor on? He does it every time.

It's a penalty if he instigates a fight and leaves his visor on. Not just for getting in a fight.

Again, good nickname. Do you expect Iginla to get out a screwdriver every time he wants to fight?

I meant to take out the screws holding his visor onto his helmet. Silly goose.

Last season it was an Instigator penalty in at least 1 game I watched.. That was how it was assessed.

Iginla tends to fight spur of the moment when he's supremely pissed off. He doesn't have time to take it off.

He's removed it when he actually 'squeares' off, but he rarely sets up that way.

Well, it's not just Iginla, either. Ference and Crosby, for instance, just last night. It's not as if they're two heavy weights having a friendly bout... They went at it because they were pissed, and subsequently had no time or drive to remove their lids.

And I also hate when people think players fight with their visor on sometoimes as if it's some form of protection... You still get punched square in the face, and run the chance of getting your face cut up (like Ference got his head cut the other night from it.)

It just annoys me, I think, when people think players should stop every fight, remove their helmets, and then have a spirited go at it. If you want a real heated fight, chances are neither player cares or has the time to remove his helmet.

For the record Iggy said he would rather fight without the helmet and visor, the visor can do more damage to the head than the fist (see Shanahan fight where Iggy gets cut)

Most fights just start for a guy like Iginla, he's not some slug who stands in the faceoff circle asking the opposing slug to dance. There simply isn't enough time to take off in a passion fight.

Anytime there has been time to take off the helmet Iginla has. so please keep stop this BS that Iginla hides behind a visor, he wears one because he doesn't want to have his career ruined as all players should.

He started a fight with Jared Boll, tried to take Boll's helmet off, but refused to take his own off, Iginla is a turd and should be penalized everytime he does this, which has been more than twice at least.

No one in this thread has said that.

EDIT: Ok, the irony of someone saying that right before I say no one has is pretty huge, I'll admit that.

Is there anyone in the NHL who takes off his helmet everytime he fights? I've seen a few few clips off Mike Richards doing that, and one of Beauchemin asking Iginla to, but that's about it.

I'm pretty sure Boll had his gloves off before Iginla, you think a punk like Boll is gonna wait for Iggy to remove his helmet?

Glad those two went at it though since Iggy always plays better after he gets into a fight, just like how he scored that 3rd goal
