Overview:
Kings forward Patrick O'Sullivan, who grew up in Sterling Heights, has a season-high five-game points streak (one goal, four assists). He has six goals and nine assists overall. Kings forwards Anze Kopitar (33 points) and Dustin Brown (28 points) are tied for the team lead in goals, with 15 apiece.

Dan Cleary became the latest Wing to celebrate a birthday with a face full of shaving cream, courtesy of Draper. "Cagey veteran," Cleary said of Draper, who caught Cleary off-guard while he was talking to the media. Cleary came to the rink prepared for a prank but believed his teammates had forgotten that Tuesday was his 29th birthday. "Possible conspiracy," Cleary said to the media. "You guys try to set me up? I gotta be better." Draper was surprised how easy it was to get Cleary. "When anyone's talking to the media, it was perfect timing," Draper said. "The funniest thing is nobody wished him a happy birthday. So I think he thought we had kind of forgotten about it. "Today, Dan Cleary let his guard down. It was pretty easy getting him. I didn't think I'd be able to say that." Is any Wing off-limits with regard to the shaving-cream pie? "Yeah," Draper said, laughing. "Nick Lidstrom." Draper said he really wants to get Chris Chelios, who turns 46 on Jan. 25, but Chelios "seems like he'd kind of hold a grudge on that one."

The Wings practiced at City Arena on Tuesday because Joe Louis Arena was being prepared for an Ozzy Osbourne concert. Dominik Hasek will start in net tonight, and Chris Osgood is set to start Thursday. Former Wings coach Dave Lewis is an assistant for the Kings. The Wings have earned points in 10 consecutive games (9-0-1).

From HF member: Riposte! on the LA Kings board!!

Quote:
A merchant ship is sailing the open seas, ready to deliver cargo to the Caribbean colonies of its nation. On the way to the first destination, one of the crew comes to the helm and says to the Captain:

"Sir, there are three pirate ships off the bow and they've got all their cannons pointed at us."

"Ensign, get me my red shirt," the Captain says. The ensign obeys, and soon a battle begins. After a hard fight, the merchant vessel manages to win and sails on.

The next day, the ensign returns to the Captain and says:

"Captain, there are 10 pirate ships off the bow and they've got all their cannons pointed at us."

"Ensign, bring me my red shirt," says the Captain. The ensign turns to do his commander's bidding, but stops and turns back.

"Captain," he says, "why do you have me get your red shirt right before battle?"

"If I am hit and begin to bleed," the Captain explains, "I don't want the crew to see that we are losing, so they keep their courage."

The ensign nods and gets the red shirt. After a vicious and long battle, the merchant vessel is victorious and sails on.

The next day, the ensign returns to the Captain and says:

"Captain, the Detroit Red Wings are off the bow."

"Ensign," the Captain says, "bring me my brown pants."

Well, this game will be broadcasted on TSN, so finally this Canadian wings fan will be able to watch the boys in action, or lest on an actual television screen.

However, I'm predicting a 5-1 Red Wings win, with goals from Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kopecky, Filppula, and Kronwall.

We should be able to pick up another 2 points tonight, so lets go, boys!

I don't know, the Kings might put up a fight... look at what the Capitals did the other night!

I like Kopitar, and he might give Hasek some trouble -- of course, making a routine save gives Hasek trouble, so...

Brown is oh so sexy this year for us but I must admit Z and D and Baby Huds are treats to watch.

Hopefully it doesn't get too out of hand...unless it is a 7-6 game or something. I want faint hope after the second...that's a better way to put it!

Best of luck boys.
