Sources close to Niedermayer suggest he is prepared to return to the NHL team in the near future.

The Ducks' committed payroll for next season is the issue. With Niedermayer potentially returning, and with another year left on his contract after this season, the Ducks could not add him to the roster now without freeing up cap room for next season. In the new CBA, it's called 'tagging' room and the Ducks don't have enough of it next season to allow Niedermayer back on the roster this season – unless they move a player who is under contract for next season.
Multiple NHL sources confirm the Ducks have been active in trade talks this week trying to do exactly that.
Sources suggest the Ducks are prepared to move any defenceman other than Chris Pronger who is under contract for next season. That list includes Mathieu Schneider, Francois Beauchemin and Sean O'Donnell.
to bad the rest of the teams in the league couldn't ban together and make a pact not to trade with burke, its fun watching the ducks do so bad. make him waive some more talent if they want scotty back so bad.
but seriously, ill take beauchamin on the sharks, it probably wont be him that gets moved though.
I would take Beauchemin on Philadelphia in a heartbeat.
I think almost any team would take him. Just depends on what the return would be that they would be asking for him. Im sure the B's would love to have him as well.
why would they trade Beauchemin?? Its not like he's making that much??? Honestly as a semi Ducks fan, Screw Neids, whats been the hold up buddy?????????????
um...im pretty sure they would want to trade Schneider rather than beauchimen because schneider takes up more cap space, giving them more room next season

Who is going to trade for Schneider at a $5.625 million cap hit?

Kept in mind they are right up next to the Cap. So whatever move they make has to work for both this year and next. Goodness knows they have some talent that needs new long-term contracts...
Means they may have to trade guys because of cost..... How much does Beauchemain make? What is his contract status?
I would have to think that Carolina has called about Beauchemin. With the loss of Dustin Penner, it may be tempting for Anaheim to trade for Andrew Ladd from Carolina to see if he can develop and play a role for them. Perhaps something like Ladd, a mid level prospect, and a high pick. It wouldn't be "fair" value for Beauchemin but that's going to be hard to get when you have to move him in this way.
