I have watched a little bit of Junior major hockey, so take it for what its worth but these are my impressions.
Patrice Cormer: Good skater, did not seem to be too physically involved when I saw him. One thing that did stand out in when I saw him was that he is a very good in the face-off circle.
Philipe Cornet: Very good passer and skater, he is very shifty and opposing players have a difficult time getting the puck away from him.
Patrick Champagne: Big forward, he is a very good puckhandler with good vision. He is very strong on the puck and plays a physical game, but will need to improve his speed.
When I saw Champagne earlier this season, I have this written down in my notes:
Quote:
Great size, his footspeed is a little bit of an issue, as one would expect. Uses his physical tools well, protecting the puck with his body. Nice puck skills, he also showed dedication in his own end, sticking with his man. Great anticipation of the puck and vision. Played in front of the net, between the hash marks and stood up to the punishment.
The other guys haven't blown through town yet (or I didn't see them at least) so I don't want to speak on them, other then mentioning that the popular opinion with Cormier is that he's a million dollar body with a two cent head.
