Tiebreakers - From NHL.com
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

Wednesday's game is also Dallas's National Hockey Fights Cancer Night. We're having a "pink-out", encouraging everyone to wear pink to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation in their fight against breast cancer. I'll be up with the Havoc Fanatics making lots of noise - we are the chant starters that you hear on tv.

Why not lime for lymphoma or purple for cancer in general? Why is breast cancer the celebrity among all forms of cancer? Just wondering, and in no way am I trying to diminish breast cancer at all, rather I just have family members who are survivors of other forms of cancer that simply don't get the press or funds dedicated to research full cures for them that breast cancer does. It's not even the most common form of cancer either.

Related to the topic at hand, this is excellent information. Thank you for compiling it.

Yeah I've noticed that too.

Must've been featured on Oprah or something, I dunno.

Several of the NHL teams are supporting the Susan G. Komen foundation. I think for Dallas in part its because the foundation started here and the first Race for the Cure was in Dallas. The current Dallas Race for the Cure is also this month as well as some other Texas cities. The headquarters of the foundation are also located in Dallas. It's all part of the hockey fights cancer cause.

Everyone knows the ta-tas are most important.

Also, rumor has it Smith was injured during a fist fight with Jeff Halpern during practice yesterday (no, I'm not joking).

This was posted on our Havoc forum by the administrator:

"Stars coach Dave Tippett said he took a shot in the arm, and that this isn't serious or long-term."

I believe the info came from Heikas blog.

It happened at an open practice. Evidently a lot of people saw. It's all over Andrew's and the O-boards.

Right, but as you know, or I presume you know, the Race for the Cure is to fund research for all forms of cancer and it honors/remembers all cancer patients, not just those infected with breast cancer. Several cities and towns hold the Race at different times of the year.

It's all for a good cause, but I just don't get why breast cancer gets far more publicity than other, more common kinds of cancer. The location of the Foundation makes sense, and I had forgotten about that actually, but even in Ontario (going by previous comment) breast cancer is the big cancer stick on the block.

I think the reason breast cancer gets so much media is because it is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54, and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74.

The race for the cure does not support other forms of cancer, at least according to their website:

A minimum of twenty-five percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race supports the Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs, which fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific conferences around the world.

Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race stays in the local community to fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects.

anyways, enough about boobs and lumps I'm ready to reek Havoc at tomorrow's game. If you see a big Swedish flag waving in the stands when a Swedish player scores - that would be me. (The Finnish flag is also mine - which was on TV at last Friday's home opener when Hagman scored - I was next to it, but I let someone else handle it because I can't wave both during the period starts).

Probable Stars offensive lines (acc. DMN):

Jokinen-Modano-Lehtinen
Morrow-Ribeiro-Hagman
Lundqvist-Halpern-Barnes
Fedoruk-Ott-Winchester

Let`s see how Jussi manages to play wing, since he has looked better at center. I hope Jere scores and Mike gets closer to Housleys record.

Nice to see Ribs back in the lineup. Hagman really deserves the spot in 2nd line.

Stars win in shootout.

Stars99, I always check out your GDT's because you're one of the last true wild men. Insane amount of information.

I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks.

I hope they keep the finn line together - Hagman-Lehtinen-Jokinen.

Those guys smoke when they're together.

although Modano and Lehtinen have also been great line mates in the past

Let`s see how Jussi manages to play wing, since he has looked better at center. I hope Jere scores and Mike gets closer to Housleys record.

Nice to see Ribs back in the lineup. Hagman really deserves the spot in 2nd line.

Stars win in shootout.
Is loui eriksson going to be a regular healthy scratch?

i think there's a good chance he's going to Iowa once Ribeiro and Grossman are healthy (and no other injuries then)

Ah ok, thanks. Thought he was a sleeper cause he was supposed to be on the 2nd line or at least people slotted him there, but I guess that never panned out.
