I just noticed his salary, 2,280,000. No wonder DL passed, the almost 2x Modry's salary.
He's actually signed at $1.5 / 1 year. And yah, he'll be back before the season even starts, better to get this sort of thing cleared up early then try and play through the season.
He'll be back in time, but I'm sure his conditioning won't be exactly 100% after abdominal surgery as he'll be off the ice for quite some time and miss a bulk of training camp.
Said that LA "LOW-BALLED" him at 1.2 million for a 1 year. And said that it wasnt worth taking a bad offer to not make the playoffs. Said he got a good taste of a cup run in Colorado and didnt want to play on a non winning team. Vancuver is where he wanted to be.

Ouch. All true except the low ball part. I would have offered him Osprey and his choice of King Blazer or Kingfan24.

Wow a thread for AM... we have gone over him before. Many here really like Aaron I was never a big fan but thought he was adequete the first season here. I actually even defended his coming in that trade deal. But as I watched him thru the years when healthy I found his motivation lacking! Also he did not try to improve his skills when I watched him at practices... Now I hear this stuff from him, and I am now assured my assessments of him were correct! I hope we make a great run this year and Vancuver is swatted early if they even make it to the show! I wished this guy well even thou I was unhappy with his tude, now I hope he is healthy when we play his new team and our guys score on him all nite long... Kharma mate...

It seems irrelevance in the new NHL is getting to him.
Who wants to bet he got a sports hernia doing sit-ups to strengthen his back?

Paging Jack Johnson...Aaron Miller would like his #3 Kings jersey returned to him as quickly as possible; you can deliver it on October 19 at GM Place, preferably open ice and in front of the Kings' bench.
does anyone know anything about the fact that Michal Handzus and Dan Cloutier are still **injured reserve on the Kings site?
Miller is mad the Kings low balled him with 1.2 mil for one year and then he takes 1.5 and a one year in Vancouver? Not like he got 3+ million. 300K is a lot in real life, but hockey player terms not that much, esp. when you have to uproot your family. Moving alone will will cost a bunch as will flights, hotels until you find a home up there....

Especially when it was most likely the starting point and could've been moved a bit by a good agent (representing a client who is actually in demand). Miller probably thought his services were worth 2+, got a 1.2 offer, bristled, waited for a higher offer, saw that the market for him was next to zero, and then took close to the original offer when that was all that was left.
I wish him well as the 6/7 defenceman for a solid Canucks blue line. But, it should be a very easy loss to absorb.
82 games in a contract season. Before that, look at the number of games a season he played.
There is always a risk of injury when you sign someone with Miller's history; however, when he had that surgery last off-season, it seemed to help him a great deal as evidenced by the 82 games he played. It's certainly possible that all of those hip and back problems are in the past. I know that doesn't help the Kings, but it could bode well for the Canucks.
And to answer the Canucks fan, I would categorize Miller as a top-4 for the Kings last year. And, overall, he was solid...as solid as anyone could be on the Kings blueline last season. As a #6, if healthy, he should afford the 'nucks some needed depth and he can still serve adequately on the penalty kill, as well; overall, he's a good physical defensive presence to have in your bottom pairing.

I guess he didn't get the picture when nobody wanted him at the trade deadline.
I read somewhere that Miller was considered by the writer as a shot blocker, in fact one of the Kings best shot blockers last season. Do you guys have that opinion? If he was a shot blocker last year it went right under my radar (and probably over Dan's shoulder too). I think Miller's mobility is where he is most challenged these days. Best of luck to him and the Canucks. I like the new jerseys and color shift.
