Ed Belfour is on his way to Leksand in Sweden. Does anyone know anything more about this??

Fun Fact:
Leksand Sweden is twinned with my hometown of Aurora, Ontario.
In other news, there's been an unnexpected run on Absolut Vodka. Sources state that a man described as "not unlike a grizzly bear in appearance" has been seen raiding liquor stores at night. Stay tuned.

Seeing it was 2nd tier I assumed it was Mälmo.

Clearly shows that Eddie is not a smart man at all. Retire already. I mean you can't blame the guy for having a passion for the game and wanting to play, but his skills have really diminished.

He did hold a starting job for a huge portion of last year.

Bad way to go out...I would've liked to see him retire in the NHL.

They have an excellent starter in Jani Hurme.

He must enjoy playing - that's not a bad thing.
Most of my friends pay for the privilege of playing hockey -- and I'm sure most would love playing full time, even if it's for little money.

If he wants to keep playing the game he loves, who are we to question where he does it?

No kidding. These guys don't make it to the NHL so they can uphold fan expectations. If Eddie wants to keep playing, even at a lower level, then good for him. Plus I don't know where he's going in Sweden but I'd imagine its a beautiful place.

I know--I live here in the UK--it is one step above the Elite league that plays here

Ok, then I don´t think you would say no thanks if Belfour came to your team in the UK, right?

well, I'm happy for him.. it shows he doesn'T want to stop playing hockey. And maybe it's a dream for him to play in europe before retiring, who knows? I don't care about the rest. If he's happy, so be it..

why?
he played extremely well for us - most, if not all, panther fans enjoyed his stay here.
he could start for a good number of nhl teams right now if he plays like he did last year. his off-ice antics and age likely kept teams away though.
