The Wings are bringing in a goalie from the Q. They have an opening behind Howard at Grand Rapids. Of course Drew MacIntyre and Joey MacDonald are currently available too.....

Has anyone heard anything about Mark Derlago getting a tryout? I've gotta believe, if he hadn't broken his neck his draft year, he'd have been drafted by someone. Didn't he lead the Dub in goals last year?

I know they are both out of the Wings organization now......this was taken from THe Boston Globe last week with regards to MacDonald

Despite his fine work in limited play last season, Joey MacDonald will not be back with the Bruins in 2007-08.

The team does not seem interested in re-signing Jason York, Nathan Dempsey, Petr Tenkrat and Jeff Hoggan either. Boston is in the market for a goalie and will speak to Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Ed Belfour, Mike Dunham, Robert Esche and Curtis Joseph once the free agent season opens Sunday at noon. If the Bruins can ink one of the aforementioned goaltenders, they will try and trade either Hannu Toivonen or Tim Thomas. Jun. 30 - 9:31 am et
You are right about the Canucks' MacIntyre, I meant Logan Koopmans is avaialbe again....gets that's what I et for staying up too late and posting at almost 6AM...my bad.

Samson isn't going to Montreal's camp now I would assume, as he has just signed a contract with Carolina: http://hurricanes.nhl.com/team/app?a...e&service=page

No he won't be at camp, the Habs tried to sign him to an ahl contract from what I've heard, so he was smart to go with the Canes and get an nhl contract.

I think the Rangers are going to really like Justin DiBenedetto. He broke through last season and he has a really great wrist shot that he can get under the bar with accuracy. He stood out as a dangerous scorer whenever I watched Sarnia games last year.

Yeah;

Derlago: 46g
Gagnon: 42g
Yellow Horn: 40g

None of the 3 are considered top prospects anywhere; 2 of them are free agents. I'm surprised someone hasn't taken a chance on Derlago, he seems talented enough, has the size at 6' 195lbs.

Detroit has invited a trio of goaltenders hoping to sign at least one to make up for not being able to select a goaltender at the draf this year.. Pier-Olivier Pelletier as well as Andrew Engelage (Windsor, OHL) and Real Cyr (Prince George, WHL) to prospects camp, as per this article: http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2007...to_public.html

I don't know if it counts for this thread or not but those in the know have been saying all season that the Donatis are coming back to Detroit's camp this year after impressing, but being cut last year. No real confirmation on that unless someone else has something. But they're not coming to prospects camp so I suppose it's irrelevant at this point.
