Cats rumour?

I heard that the Cats are bringing forward Paul Rodrigues and an enforcer in from free agency. Anyone have any info on him?

I don't have any info on Rodrigues or the enforcer but they have apparently signed to FA D men and are pretty confident on an NCAA player (other than Sill) reporting.

is zach sill playing for the moncton wildcats next season?

what is it with this guy, is he actually any good, hes an 88' birthday so he better be able to make an immediate impact...he didn't put up many points playing truro junior A...or at Maine while he was there.

that rodrigues guy doesnt look like much of an enforcer...68 pims in 47 gamess...

Simon Danis-Pepin is on the training camp roster. He looks pretty good. With Barberio and Pionosi and a number of returning defensemen the back end looks pretty solid. With Marquart, Mangan, Shannon, the three L's and maybe Morehouse upfront we'll be better there too. and sill maybe? And maybe a few drafts or trades from the over 20 trades??

2006 line:
From the Truro Bearcats website
Evans normally turns to rookie Zach Sill to shutdown the opponent’s top scorers but his status is uncertain for tonight’s’ game with an upper body injury.

Other players picked up the slack Thursday in New Glasgow, when Sill did not play, showing the team’s depth, but Evans is hoping to have the Brookfield native in the lineup tonight.

“Sill doesn’t play like a rookie. Sill fits into the Bearcat way of hockey very, very well and that’s tough to play against,” he said.

“That kid has intensity every shift, always has his feet moving, plays fearless and if you don’t keep your head up he makes you pay.”

They used him as a defensive forward against the other teams top lines. Scored well before. may be just the role the coach wanted and his linemates.

Unfortunately I really can't see Danis-Pepin comming. He is going to be playing a much bigger role with Maine this season. Sill is much like Chris Gaudet a very solid two way center. He won't put up huge points but he can score but his responsibility will be PK and shutting down the oppositions scoring lines.

Although he is a Chicago draft pick and the Wildcats contacts with Chicago with Torchetti there and Martino here couldn't be any better. What about this Jimmy Hayes? thing I hear?

I have heard the same rumblings about Jimmy Hayes too. He is probably our best hope out of the NCAA players that we have drafted reporting. He is touted to be a top 10 pick in the NHL draft next season so it may be more beneficial for him to play in the Q than wait another year and play at a lower level until he can go to NCAA. His stock would rise better in the Q and right at this moment it would probably be more beneficial for his developement.

Danis-Pepin is on the training camp roster though. What does that mean? Would they put him there if he's not interested?

Hayes is on the training camp roster as well.

Training camp rosters include the 55 man protected list. Last season Cross, Hayes, Sill, Strait, and Pepin were on the training camp roster and none of them showed. I would love to have Danis-Pepin on our team don't get me wrong. I just don't see it happening. And I doubt the Picard-Hooper trade rumours unless we get him for a steal. We are pretty solid down the middle.
