Lets vote Rory Fitzpatrick into the All-Star game, part III

You guys are crazy. Continuing the 2000-reply threads of before.

Attention : Anyone going to an NHL game in the near future, we urge you to make a sign and bring it. You can use the Uncle Rory picture on the website, or make your own...as long as it says Vote For Rory in some way. It'd probably be a good idea to put www.VoteForRory.com on there too so we can track who has seen it.

RORY ON YOUTUBE!!! - Thanks to LowballNorm!, and here - Thanks to Thresher, and here - Thanks to Moses.

Since the old thread passed 1000 replies, rather than wreaking database havoc, lets try this again.

You guys are awesome, seriously.

Entry from the original first post, for those newcomers :

Since we're all going to be voting many, many times...why not start an HFBoards project, and try to get Rory Fitzpatrick into the all-star game under the Western Conference write-in.

Basically the whole idea is that if we vote in a guy who would never normally get more than 100 votes, but probably works harder than 90% of the big name guys, imagine the awesomeness that would come from that.

I'm thinking if all of HFboards unites, we can actually get Rory into the All-Star game. Pass it on, and vote often!

VOTE FOR RORY

VoteForRory.com - Spread the word!

Media attention tracker :

-Team 1260 Radio Show out of Edmonton mentioned the campaign and the site on Monday night.
-CFOX Radio Station out of Vancouver mentioned the campaign, the site, and the hosts also said they voted for Fitzpatrick on Tuesday morning.

I think the NHL didn't inclue Rory to see if voting dies down a bit. It wont because we are only going to vote more and more!

I'm outraged. I spent like a God damn hour working on my video for this. Sending my video to everyone on MySpace, putting it on YouTube then spending my evening voting.

We will not go quietly into the night, we will not go without a fight!

That's right. Don't give up. Find people who don't know and get them to tell others. Keep voting.

+100 for Rory.

Why don't I just vote for the transient hobo who begs for change outside my apartment to make the all-star team? It makes about the same amount of sense.

Hello new Rory thread...

Mark me down for another 50 votes... I have to be somewhere near 900 - 1000 votes for Rory now.

You're comparing a hobo to an experienced defenseman like Rory FitzPatrick?

The only thing we can do that will have an impact is to contact SOMEONE with a blog on a sports site or something. One of the guys at Sportsnet.ca maybe, or even TSN.ca. We can keep voting, but frankly, we can do that forever, they'll keep sweeping it under the rug. We need to reveal them! Then our votes will matter!

Seriously every few pages we get stupid things like this. Why do people still bother? This has gone over 2000 pages, no person with a lame comment like that is going to change people's minds. Vote for Rory!

If the NHL still used paper voting, I'd fill out a thousand of them, and send it to their headquarters in a big box.

Courtesy of everybody on HFBoards.

Dear NHL,

I am completely outraged that Rory Fitzpatrick has not been included in the NHL All-Star game voting. As you may be aware, the website http://www.voteforrory.com/ is supporting this cause, and has awared thousands of fans across North America about this. The NHL player Fitzpatrick has been voted for numerous times by many across North America. When voting for rosters, I see Mark Messier, and NHL legend, encouraging us to vote many times. Following Mr.Messier's advise, we the fans, have voted many times, for Mr.Fitzpatrick. I understand that the NHL might not want this to happen because of bad publicity, but honestly, I think that this will be great marketing, and with no disrespect to the fantastic marketers that work for the league, marketing is very weak compared to leagues such as the NFL and the NBA. Media outlets such as TSN,RDS, and many others have been notified of our cause. This will be the greatest event in the history of the post-lockout era in the NHL. Please don't let our (the loyal fans) hardwork go to waste!
What do you guys think of this email?

PS: I suck at English, so please don't mind the grammar mistakes, thanks.

EdiT: Sent!

About the e-mail, extremely well done. Mine was horrible in the other thread. But the line "As you may be aware, the website www.voteforrory.com" Doesn't make much sense to me? Am I missing something?

I was only just now able to check in and catch the stats on NHL.com

What a let down, but not entirely surprising

As most have mentioned, it simply becomes that much more motivation to make this work - keep contacting 'big names' and ultimately, if the story is out there, no way will the NHL be able to sweep it under the rug if Rory does in fact have enough votes to make the NHL all*star team

Rory Fitzpatrick youtube. vidII

keep on votin' on

What is this fascination with Fitzpatrick? Im from Vancity and its pretty much the underlying opinion of most fans and columnists from here that he is pretty much a useless player unless you're in dire need of plugging a hole on your 6th d spot. He doesnt do any one thing very well and hes timid as a mouse. Personally he ruined the Nashville game I went to by letting Sullivan blow by him for a breakaway and then after Luongo made the save instead of sweeping the loose puck away or putting the body to that midget sulli he lets him walk back into the crease for an easy rebound goal while he watched. That was the game winner too. Uhhhhll... this guys in the NHL?

No, you aren't, but I fixed that up in the email, so it went like this:

"As you may be aware, the site voteforrory.com, has been awaring thousands of NHL fans to vote for Rory."

The purpose of this is not solely to get Rory into the All-Star game. But that is part of it. Many of us are tired of seeing the same, talented but lazy guys in the game year after year. Its time a hard working, lunch-pail kind of guy got his moment.

Its also to expose the farce that is allowing fans to vote as many times as they want.
