Assume Engelland, Grover, Hendricks and Sloan are AHL signings
Vandermeer is confirmed on a two-way per Washington Caps website
Taticek is listed on NHL.com with Washington so i assume he is on a two-way
Helbling - unclear, but I am assuming for now he is on a two-way
Vandermeer may be signed to a 2-way, but if he sees 1 regular season game in a Caps jersey I will be extremely surprised. He's a bad enforcer and even worse forward.

This thread was about AHL contracts so I was just trying to clarify the signings in the Bears release yesterday. FWIW, the roster on the Caps website has been updated and confirms that Vandermeer, Helbling and Taticek have Washington organization contracts, although I think most, if not all, expect them to play in Hershey.
I don't expect Vandermeer to see a game in a Caps jersey (and never said he would) unless they are out of the playoff race and Brashear is injured plus other forward injuries. At the end of 03-04 with the firesale, etc., Mel Angelstad got called up for 2 games; so surprise, yes, but possible, if not probable.

I saw a transaction in the newpaper that said that Vandermeer was signed by Hershey and made no mention about the Caps. The Bears website also reports that Vandermeer was signed by Hershey.

The Caps announced they signed Vandermeer on July 21 (see link below). for some reason, Hershey decided to wait until they could announce a bunch of signings at once. There was one Hershey press release for 7 signings, 3 were Washington two-way contracts including Vandermeer and 4 were AHL only signings.
The Chicago Wolves have signed D-man Tim Wedderburn and forward Steve Martins to AHL contracts. This link is to the transaction page, so it will show the signings for the next month. The Wolves are still sorting out the newpage, so the links get a little confusing sometimes.
Has anyone heard where Mike Bishai might play? He spent last year with the San Antonio Rampage.
He hasn't signed in the NHL or AHL and hasn't signed a deal in Europe, so I assume he is still a UFA. I expect to see him at someones camp in September
The Albany River Rats are proud to announce that their National Hockey League affiliate, the Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes have reached an agreement with forward Bill Kinkel on an American Hockey League contract.

Thanks. If anyone hears where, I'd appreciate you letting me know!
Henrik Lundqvist
Kevin Weekes
Al Montoya
Chris Holt
Steve Valiquette
Miika Wiikman will not play in North America this year, and Alex Westlund is only under an AHL contract.
You have to assume that Lundqvist and Weekes will be in New York, leaving Montoya, Holt, Valiquette and Westlund. I would have assumed that Montoya and Valiquette are headed for Hartford, leaving Holt and Westlund for Charlotte?
