Ducks @ Preds 10/9/03

I am coming out to say the Ducks go out and take this one 4-1. As I have said before, if I don't leave Sundays game with the Ducks having a 2-1 record you are going to have one pissed moderator.

Prediction: The Krog/Feds/Nieds experiment ends tonight a game too late.

umm.. Skrastins is an Av, and also, he does not score.

I predict Ducks take it 3-2.

Ducks: Federov (2), Niedermayer
Predators: Legwand, Hall

No way guys, JS is going to stay cold. This one's going to OT. Preds and Ducks tie 3-3.

I'm saying 3-2 Ducks. We still wont look very sharp but will play better in our own end. Preds have a paper thin D but Vokoun is a good netminder and will have to cover their mistakes. If the Ducks can draw some penalties I think we will score some PP goals. I'm just hoping for a better effort than last night.

Well, Gerbs is sharp. Too bad he's the only one.

Flashes of brilliance on the power play for the Ducks, and they just had a nice chance shorthanded. Vokoun and Gerber have both looked good. Ducks just easily killed a 2-man disadvantage.

Vokoun just robbed Sykora for the second time, the first one came on the power play. The second line looks much better tonight, but we're still a bit frantic on defense. The Preds are fast.

Fedorov seems to have some purpose tonight, and the fourth line had a nice chance.

Krog's missed about 4 passes from Fedorov so far. I wonder if he (Feds) had really intellectualized Babcock's "superstars need to share themselves" comment before now. Oops.

Have I mentioned Gerber looks good? Because he does. Always set, no wierd rebounds, never seems to be wondering if he has the puck or not.

Yeah, I'm having a great time tonight.

Burnett once again drew his fights, while Todd Simpson beat the crap out of Scott Walker.
Walker landed a big hit on Simpson after the fight had ended and Simpson was trying to disengage. Simpson was then kicked out for not having his sweater tied down.
So once again we're down to 5 defensemen early.

The Ducks had some strangely quiescent spells but overall established their forecheck pretty well. Fedorov made a lot of noise but he's on his own. The second line's been good, Sykora's had two big chances that should've been goals and Prospal had some lesser chances. Rooch still doesn't look comfortable.

The defense warmed up a bit. Vishnevsky is annoyed at Walker and hopefully that will wake him up some.

Gerber looks very much on his game. If that idiot Koharski deigns to give us a couple more power plays we will score. It looks good.

That's it for the first.

I'm already tired of hearing about Tootoo being the first Inuit to play in the NHL.

I think the entire population of Nunavut is in attendance.

Hey, they're retiring Fuhr's jersey. I think he was a great goalie. Say what you want about offensive support, but he had zero defensive support. His reflexes are second only to maybe Hasek's.
