Why do you need a confirmation? It's only the second game of the season, Gerber isn't going to play!!!

Giggy will be in net.

Does anyone know why it is not on Fox Sports West 2, I thought they would play real hockey games not extreme sports shows.

Are you not extreme enough to watch a guy ride his bike down a hill while doing jumps???

I've been told that if you have Direct TV or Digital cable that you can watch the game on Center Ice.. W/O having to subscribe to it.. as part of some sort of free preview.. so I'm going to give that a shot..

hopefully its true and we look better tonight..

Go Ducks!!

Gerber had a good game. No goal was his fault.

I just think that we have a number 1 goalie and its only the second game of the season so he should be in net. I dont know if Giggy would have made a difference but I do know that our team has a problem scoring goals for Gerber. The team is just more comfortable with Giggy in net.

does this mean Giggy will never play each game of back to backs this year?

He's supposed to only play 60-65 this year, so probably not.

Don't ignore the fact that both the team and Giguere are horrible on the 2nd night of back-to-backs. Giggy was something like 1-6-0 when he started both games last season.

Starting Gerber was the right move by Babcock.

Congratulation on a very insightful post.

I think it was the right move to start Jiggy, even though the Ducks lost. It gets Gerber some game action right at the beginning of the year. I wouldn't want him sitting for an extended period to start off. Plus, Jiggy wasn't all that impressive in the season opener.

From what I watched in the third period, I thought Gerber played well. Stopped at least one break-away and made some other key saves that, briefly, kept us in it. Good game from Gerber. Bad game by most of the other players.

Hopefully we can get it going against the Coyotes. But that's no easy game. The yotes beat the blues in OT tonight. Maybe we will get a boost of adrenaline playing at home and raising the WC Champs banner.

Isles should have kept him....and Spezza and drafted Gabby instead of DiPietro etc....that Milbury is a genius

Yea he should have. IMO, that is the worst trade ever! However, I would have drafted Heatley over Gaborik. Think about it:

Jokinen, Spezza, Luongo, Heatley -- geez!
