The Ducks will probably send Getzlaf back. There is no reason to give him a contract this season as unfortunate as that may be,

Popovic, I say he will probably get sent down to Cincy but I hope the kid stays. With Carney out, we could use another solid Dman who can play Babcock's system. (ie, Ward sucks)

Lupul is a lock for the team.

Holmqvist? I guess he made the team on the 4th line although I haven't heard anything about him in all the preseason game.

Burnett, Severson, and Johnson are locks.

yeah Popovic and Getzlaf will be the final 2 cut from training camp.

I agree with you about Ward...hopefully he will be used sparingly on D this season...He will be our 7th defensemen until Carney gets back, then I dont know what will happen to Ward.

With Carney being injured Popovic was about to make the team, until we picked up Simpson. Now Popovic can further develop as our number one defensmen at the AHL level playing 20+ minutes a night.

Getzlaf has left a good impression upon the organization during training camp. Im sure most of us would have thought he would be back in juniors by now, but he has stuck around. With him having no contract and a spot realistically not available for the entire season, it makes sense for him to be the one to be cut. Hopefully he will have a strong season in the WHL and make the World Junior Championship team.

Anyone have any other suggestions for the 2 cuts?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine that Popovic and Getzlaf get cut. Both would suffer playing part time in the NHL and are better improving their skills in the AHL/WHL.

Those who say Ward is slow, please tell me who skates faster Ward or Scott Stevens??

2nd or 3rd line...don't know which players he will be with for sure, but Rucchin is centering the second line and Pahlsson is centering the 3rd.
