Ducks beating Pups 3-1

Not sure if its final but the Ducks are up on the Pups 3-1 goals by Johnson(2) Fedorov(1) and Lupul(2) the power play went 1 of 5 and Giguere stopped 19 of 20 I believe.

hey guys im just wondering if u think theres any chance Lupul and Getzlaf can both make the team? i think these guys would do great. i think the ducks should at least see what getzlaf can do in 10 games. and make their decision on whether to send him back to the juniors after that.

Well if I was running things, Getzlaf and Lupul would make the team...
The LA Times keeps making it sound like only one of them can make it...but they are both playing well, and Bryan Murray mentioned the fact that he has made contact with Getzlaf's agent to talk contract.

I hope they make the team and Smirnov or Holmqvist gets sent to Cinn. along with Popovic for the last two cuts.

Lupul took first star honors tonight with a +1, 13 minutes of ice time and 5 shots.
Fedorov was second star with the GWG, 8 shots and 55% on faceoffs.

No no and no for me. I would send Lupul down and send Getzlaf back to his junior team after the 10 game tryout no matter how he performs. I am greatly against throwing guys into the fire so to speak.

Obviously there is potential for both but preseason and the regular season are night and day. there have been many a player to play very well in the preseason and do nothing during the regular season.I know I will probably get ripped fpr my comments because everyone wants to see the young guys come up but I just think there is still no need to rush these guys along. Look at what happened with Vish as an example. Kilger and another, the list can go on and on. I am just against them playing with the big club until they both can show they can dominate at the AHL level.

It would be nice to have them, but I think the professor has a point. If Lupul will be given significant ice time (15+ minutes), I say let him play with big club, at least until Leclerc comes back.

Niedermayer Federov Chistov
Prospal Ruchin Sykora
Johnson Pahlson Lupul/Smirnov
Holmqvist Krog Burnett/Severson

Callup: Lupul/Smirnov if injury occurs
Extra forwards: Brunett/Severson
IR: Leclerc, Blysma, Andy Mac

Salei Ozolinsh
Carney Sauer
Vish Halvelid

Extra: Ward
Callup: Popovic (if any signficant injuries)

Am I forgetting anyone?

Towards the middle end of the season, I'd like to see anymac added to the third line with Leclerc, Pahlson dropped down to fourth line, so that:

I'm all for Lupul getting some ice time while Leclerc is injured.. Getzlaf is a different story though, it's a harder decision with him.

If they play well enough to make the team then by all means they should make the team.

From what I have seen in the scrimmages and the preseason, Lupul deserves an opportunity to start the season with the Ducks. See how he does in the first 10 games or so to see if he can hack it up here. If not, there's always Cincy. The guy that should be sent down is Smirnov. I have yet to see him do anything yet MB keeps playing him with Fedorov. Well, I'm sure the coaching staff sees something in him that I don't. That's why they're the coaches and I'm writing on the message board!
