Being a non-season ticket holder from Edison, NJ...I was wondering if there was a way I could get a copy of the DVD that was handed out to season ticket holders.
Does the team sell them? Any of you season ticket holders lookin' to sell?
I have the DVD. I got it with my season tickets this year. It was very good, but since I taped most of the games (mostly the aways, since I went to all the home games), I have looked back on the incredible run we had. I wish the dvd had included more comments about the critical goals that were scored. Like Krog and Thomas vs. Detroit, gm 2. Had they not scored, it would have been 1-1 going back to Anaheim, and maybe would have been a different outcome.
Niedermayer skating past Zubov to score shorthanded, and Oates and Leclerc's assists on the GWG in the fifth OT of gm 1 vs. Dallas. Ozolinsh heading for the crease just as Turco layed a FAT rebound off Leclerc's shot, with a minute left in gm 6, and right after Dallas had tied the score.
I'm sure they mention all the goal scorers and such, but I felt that they missed some of the excitement of the playoffs by not going into a little more detail.
All in all, it's a great reminder of last year's success, and I recommend that all fans see it. It will be fun to see if they can recreate some of that magic again. And, NO, you can't copy mine! Hey, it's possible that they will air it on FSW as a preseason promo. I'll keep my eyes open.

How did the DVD handle the whole Kariya "situation"?
How did the DVD handle the whole Kariya "situation"?
I wasn't quite sure which Kariya "situation" you meant, so I'll comment on two that I know of.
First, there is no mention of Kariya leaving the Ducks anywhere on the disk. His comments are about the bright future of the team, especially with JS in goal.
Second, if you are referring to the Stevens hit in game 6 of the SCF, they played it up to the max. Very dramatic, step by step, with the triumphant end being the goal scored, and the game won, sending the teams to a climactic game 7.
I watched it again last night to refresh my memory. It starts with Murray behind the bench the year before, mentions the importance of the Sykora trade during the draft, picking up Ozo at the All-Star break, and Thomas and Nieds at the deadline.
Then the playoffs start, and there are interviews with Wing players talking about how it's all about winning the cup. There are great play-by-play snippets by ESPN, FSW and various radio announcers, and the whole thing is narrated by John Ahlers.
Ok, if you promise to return it, I'll let you "watch" my copy.

This is what I was talking about.

Ohhhhhhhh, I've seen this then. They played it on Fox Sports West not long after the season was over. I recorded it on VHS when it was on, but I don't think I have it anymore.

Wait a minute. If it's that one maybe I won't buy it. I recorded it off the air onto VHS also. And, I wasn't that impressed with it.

No, it isn't the dinky special they ran on Fox Sports West. It has some of the same footage, but it's different, longer, and much better, IMO.
are u sure its a lot better than the fox sports version?
Absolutely. Definitely a worthwhile collector's item. I can't wait to get my own.
$25 isn't that much, folks. And just as a side note, you put this board at risk when you talk of openly pirating copyrighted material here. I'm just sayin'.
Talking about pirating is fine. We still have the First Amendment rights the last time I checked. But any requests or propositions should be done via PM.
ex.
LEGAL: "Should people burn the DVD or spend 25 bucks?"
ILLEGAL: "Hey bro, let me have your copy so I can burn it."
I guess, but really if you can afford DVD copying and burning equipment, you can afford a measly $25. If you can't afford $25, then you surely can't afford to be going to any hockey games, paying for cable to watch hockey games, and probably can't afford to pay for an ISP so that you can discuss hockey online.
