Down 4-1 in the third to come back and win 6-4.

Afinogenov with 11 goals. Vanek and Stafford tied for the lead for the Sabres with 7
I'm happy for Max though, always like the guy, ridiculous giveaways and all.

Poor Carolina
That really was inspiring hockey the Thrashers were playing in the third for sure. And it's definitely games like these that somewhat worry me as a Caps fan.

that 3rd period made me sick. the first 2 periods were some of the best the canes have played. just goes to show how important a full 60 minutes of hockey is

Always good for me to see Carolina lose, but i feel bad for their fans, this must be the 15th time they can't hold on a lead this season.

Quite a number of us have made the concession that we have been logically eliminated from competing for the Cup this season, to say the least. After 25 games, you have a decent idea of what your team is about. Our team is about to lose.
But in all honesty, the roster was going to be turned upside down after this season anyways. A talented young player should fit right in with that scheme.

The way the Thrashers played the first two periods should give you hope though.
Anderson broke up the Kovalchuk-Antropov-Afinagenov line a week ago...he reunited them in the 3rd period. I don't expect him to break that line up again.
Now I must go watch yet another NHL fanbase boo Dany Heatley. 3 down, 27 to go.

Those first two periods by the thrash were so aggravating! But that third period was definitely one of the best period I have ever witnessed by any Thrashers team! Hopefully this game will be the wake-up call that this team desperately needs to prove to them just how important it is to show up to play a full 60 minutes of hockey every game! Great name for the little-peverley-kane line!!! That made me really crack up earlier!

and thank you Leafs for beating Florida with a comeback win. Kessel is going crazy in Toronto. I didn't realize he was that good on his own.
Now, we get to see the epic matchup tomorrow night.....
PEVERLEY vs. the pretender.
Here come the Flyer rants in 3...2....1....

Please do. We want absolutely nothing to keep us from the #1 pick this year.

Kovalchuk only nets 2 points.
The Thrashers are serious this year, people.

You know what would make them better? Trading for a great defenseman like Aaron Ward. Or a playoff warrior like Rod Brind'amour who is still a fantastic player at the age of 57.

Chicago didn't score any tonight, so they just gave them to Atlanta to score 5 un answered.

Feels so good to see the team winning after all the years of losing. It's a long season and only showing up in the third is unacceptable, but still.

BTW, it was Evander Kane who sparked the ATL rally by taking a huge number of hits but stayed scrappy and then scored. Then the floodgates opened.
That may be a trend with Atlanta in the future...

Awesome effort for sure. How often do things like that happen? Not very...
Anyways GJ Atlanta, your team sure is exciting to watch this year!
