Very Premature -- Giggy for the Olympics?

After 3 solid performances (he's been winning for the Ducks, he stole a game or 2) and more to come, hopefully, do you think Giggy would be in consideration for the Olympics? Assuming he's been putting up these numbers?

Between Ward, Brodeur, Luo who else would be in the running?

Again this is VERY premature.

hahahahaha

If Hockey Canada is picking their team based on three games, we're in trouble.

Seems very premature, considering there is no shortage of canadian goalies who are actually starters lining up behind brodeur and luongo.

Ya no chance, it will be Brodeur Luongo and Fleury (not necessarily in that order).

No way Giguere makes this team, not even a chance. Not to mention Fleury who has IMO been the best Canadian goalie so far this year, but there are other way better options then JS

But will he demand that he will only join if he's the starter?

He would have to go on some sort of insane shutout streak until 2010. Out-playing the following goalies:

Brodeur
Luongo
Fleury
Ward
Turco
Price
Emery
S. Mason
Osgood
Roloson
C. Mason
Leclaire

I didn't think Fleury had been that good, his numbers look good not great.

Back to back Stanley Cup Finals aren't looking too bad on his resume. Combine that with his youth and the potential that Hockey Canada views him as their future starter then I would be surprised if they didn't bring him just for the experience.

Cam Ward can fall into the same category. Future starter.

It's gonna be Luongo, Brodeur and Fleury.

Case closed.

It will be Fleury but it scares me. I still think he has big game brain fart potential.

Third string goalie will maybe get one game if he's lucky and it won't be one that matters.

Not unless he plays the way he has the last three games until the end of December and even then he's a longshot.

Lucky to the third string really means unlucky for the team as it most likely infers that either the 1st or 2nd string goaltender is injured.

In such a short tournament with a one and done playoff format and only a handful of preliminary and round robin games which should be used to figure out who your #1 goalie is going into the playoff round.

Wait a minute, I think you are onto something.

Are there the same size restrictions for goaltending equipment for IIHF games?

Not unless he's the starter, or else he'll retire.

Ward is injured, but yeah Fleury moves into the top 3. Not Giggy, 3 game win does not make up for his bad streak.
