Oilers lose yet another (Hemsky Season Ending Injury)

Ridiculous. Another one of Edmonton's players is injured, but this team its our best player, Rumors Circulating that Hemsky may need shoulder surgery which will most likely end his season. His injury came in Wendsdays game against LA, when he was boarded by Micheal Handzus. This is going to add on to the already league leading 146 man games lost to injury and were barely even one fourth into the season.

Wow, I feel bad for the Oil.

But at the same time the Nucks will probably win on Saturday with our without Hemsky.

Hemsky is the most dangerous Oiler and without him, the Oilers will probably be in a lottery spot.

These injuries just keep piling up.

Yikes, didn't realize the Oilers were that hurt.....sorry to hear, but sometimes you might get a nice surprise from the farm team - too bad they never kept Schremp, he probably finally couldn've made their line up, lol.

Oh, and GRUB, your avatar is freaking me out....

I wish. Our luck we will have a late season surge and pick in the 10 - 15 ranges as per usual

I'm a Canuck fan, and I think it's worthy of the main boards. Edmonton has been absolutely decimated by injuries this year. I'm actually at the point where I feel bad for them. I'd be very curious to see what kind of damage the Oilers could do if they were completely healthy. Unfortunately, it looks like for the second straight year, we'll never know.

That would probably be the case .

I just don't see the Oil being worse than Carolina, Toronto, and Minnesota even with Hemsky out.

This will probably affect Penner's output. Along with the rest of the team's.

No 4 or 5-point night's for Dustin without Hemsky by his side.

Thats awesome.

We just had to send down one AHL callup because he was at 9 games so we follow it up with another 2 ahl call ups.

This is turning into a fun season... 146mgl so far.... Maybe the oilers can Break LA's record?

I don't know what would be worse for these boards, Toronto giving away Taylor Hall or Edmonton getting him.

Ah Hemsky, every year I wait for him to explode and every year I'm slightly disappointed.

Still one of my favourite players. Let's hope he's not out for the season.

So now in the last few season weve used certain ahlers so much that they have now become waiver elligible

We play better without Hemsky "the friendly ghost" in the lineup. This could be a very good thing for the Oil - getting away from our dependence on a player that disappears on many nights and gives the puck away a ton on most nights.

Perhaps those that think Hemsky is the key to our success (note: 3 consecutive years out of the playoffs with Hemsky as our leader) will realize how expendible he really is when his missing the remainder of the season has no ill effects on our record.

Could be a blessing in disguise. Sometimes teams reinvent themselves as blue collar, never-say-die underdogs when a major star goes down with a long term injury, and actually play better when they did when he was in the lineup.
