I suppose the new mascot is going to wear a suit and talk on a Blackberry?

Then give you the 'one second' gesture with the hand while turning away to continue talking about diversifying his portfolio in Asia.
This is the move Burkie must have been talking about.
Next move, 'nudge' Blake into retirement.

They're actually going to have a pre-game ceremony for Carlton? Really?
Any excuse to hold up the game by 10 minutes...

I hated Carlton, never saw the need for a mascot.
On a side, didn't Burke try and bring in a mascot to Vancouver, but it was shot down because the kids were scared of it? Think I remember reading that a while ago.

This must be the first example of Burke making good his threat to demote those on one way contracts.

Mascots are fun, plus they throw T-Shirts at you that don't fit properly.

I think I speak for everyone when I say, this is ****ing outrageous! Carlton is not the problem dammit! Once again the Leafs fail to punish the real on ice culprits. No entitlement my ass...

No dont retire Carlton
What retire?
Maybe he can play hockey. He might be the centerman the Leafs have been looking for?
Why is this news? Who Cares?
here is a thought.....
Juggling the Leafs lineup on a nightly basis like poor Mr. Wilson is forced to do...is like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic

I nominate Wade Belak as our new mascot.
Instead of giving away t-shirts, he just beats the crap out of you.

Mascots have no place in an office building such as the ACC.

The fact that anyone has an opinion on Carlton the Bear means it's a slow news day. As far as I can tell, he wanders around the ACC giving high-fives and occasionally pointing at something. How will we live without him?

How many cups have we won with this bear as our mascot? In case I need to remind everybody, it's about winning the Stanley Cup. Kids smiles? Meaningless if you're not winning.
This organization has been content to sit on its laurels and rake in the cash as long as Carlton is putting people in the seats.
"The defintion of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results"
I for one welcome this change wholeheartedly and hope that it signals an end to years of losing.
Edit: forgot smilie
