My goal is to create an informative chart for use by all HF Boards members.
The chart will list all of the teams, and what they need. I will also incorporate other notes like cap issues.
Information about any given team will only be accepted by fans of that team or respected hockey opinions on this board. If members of the same team don't agree, I arbitrate and come to a conclusion.
The chart will be updated (below this post). It will (hopefully) become a good tool for proposals, for deadline chat and for the offseason. Please by patient as the chart will always be evolving and will always be a work in progress.
Please reply with your thoughts on your team (what do you need aka 2nd line C, top pairing D). You can also mention cap room and players who might be available. This chart belongs to ALL OF US so please keep it respectful.
blackhawks need a second line center to replace bolland, a veteran shut down defenseman, maybe a goalie depending how Huet does throughout the season. These have to save us money on the cap, probably should be a UFA at the end of this season (if traded before deadline), and also must improve our team to keep up with our 'win now mode' (also if traded before deadline).
Murray has said Ottawa is after a Top-6 forward, likely someone who can play left wing. Also, I think many agree that Ottawa could use a defenseman with a big point shot, who can play on the right side.
Penguins could use a skilled winger, preferably young, cheap and right-handed if they had their druthers. They can't take on much salary at all. Probably look more towards the "gamble" type of acquisition than anybody major. They have gritty bottom-six forwards galore, and maybe they could deal away some of their veteran experience.
As far as the salary cap is concerned, the main issues are re-signing potential RFA Letang and re-signing potential UFA Gonchar. I doubt Shero will be able to re-sign both without moving someone else (maybe Kunitz?).
A #2-3 Dman (preferably a #2, but of course those don't just grow on trees), basically someone who can play with Green or take some of the minutes from him. Someone that can play a shutdown role. Preferably someone with some hockey sense, too, as that is kind of lacking on the back end. And, of course, experience is a plus (that's not a tall order, right ).
Cap space would be nice, too, depending on how/if the Nylander situation gets settled.
Available: Most likely any/all of the UFA dmen (Morrisonn, Pothier, Jurcina), prospects, picks. Maybe someone like Fehr from the roster. A bigger deal might involve someone like Schultz, or Poti, or even Semin (although something like that probably doesn't happen till the offseason).
The issue is that they've got probably 4 guys that can be a #4, but nobody to step into that 2-3 role (along with Poti).
1. A third line center. Mike Santorelli isn't going to hack it long-term, and Marcel Goc definitely isn't going to. If Colin Wilson needs surgery, we're going to need to pick someone up.
2. A second-line winger. This one has been a need for a while. I love Joel Ward to death, but he's a third line forward.
3. NHL-caliber depth. Not just up front, but on defense as well. We need some added veteran presence deeper down the depth chart. Our top defense call-ups are Alex Sulzer and Jon Blum, neither of which has really been able to find his game. Two-way deals are a must. Waiver exemption would be nice but is not necessary.
4. Draft picks. I'm not talking first rounders, but mid-round picks would be great to have. Poile has always been able to find some quality players in the latter half of the draft, and with a pretty deep class coming up, this is as good of an opportunity as any to load up on picks.
Available Assets:
Mike Santorelli, C - His game is still developing. Has potential, but might still be a year or two away from being fully ready for the NHL, and by then he'll be 25. He would probably be better served on a rebuilding team like Toronto, Carolina, or Minnesota, where he can get playing time on the top two lines.
Cal O'Reilly, C - Some of our fans think he hasn't been given a fair shake, a la Rich Peverley, but I just don't think his game will translate at this level because of his skating (something Peverley had going for him), and because he simply cannot be effective on the lower lines. I wouldn't expect a great return, but anything we can get for him that means Cal gets another crack at the NHL would be fine by me.
Teemu Laakso, D - Showed some promise in camp, but looked a little over his head at the NHL level. Could still be a solid second pairing rearguard, and I'd prefer to trade him for a moderate-term asset rather than a rental.
Mark Dekanich, G - Looks like he'll be squeezed out the middle of our very deep goaltending pipeline. He's about to lose the AHL starting gig to Chet Pickard and hasn't played particularly well this season, but he could be a very reliable backup at this level.
Ryan Jones, RW - His attitude has earned him the ire of Barry Trotz and won't get him much more ice time here. Still has some potential as a power forward and shows flashes of brilliance, but something unquantifiable seems to be holding back his on-ice performance, and it's not Trotz.
Oh, and don't ask for Hamhuis.

Avs need a LW for duchene, a reliable top 4 shutdown defenceman for the future, and a young goaltender with potential to be an NHL backup or 1b starter
our haves include seasoned defenceman who are pending UFA (clark, salei), and mid range guys like svatos, stewart, wolski, tucker
Hurricanes:
first round pick, second round pick, young roster players (24YO or younger), prospects, later round picks
Trade Assets:
Ray Whitney, Matt Cullen, Chad LaRose, Erik Cole, Sergei Samsonov, Scott Walker, Stephane Yelle, Joe Corvo, Aaron Ward, Manny Legace
I figure Samsonov is untradable due to his contract but he'd definitely be available if anyone would be willing to take a gamble on him.
LaRose isn't a UFA after the season but I can see him garnering some interest around the league. Same goes for Cole who is still relatively highly regarded despite his last of production the past 2 years.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Needs:
* First line centre with size and good playmaking ability.
* Powerforward (left wing preferably)
* 3rd line centre (tough, good hockey sense, faceoff winner, leadership qualitys)
* High draft picks
* Young roster players
* Prospects
Assets:
* Most players not named Gustavsson, Kadri, Schenn, Kessel, Stalberg, Hanson, Bozak, Komisarek, Gunnarsson or White.
* Most valuable asset. Kaberle, but only for a BIG return. Grabovski irrational 2nd line centre, Ponikarovski UFA winger who play solid and put up points, Beauchemin cup wining defenseman who can log heavy minutes.

Detroit-
(aside from all our injuries this year) needs a top 6 forward, bottom pairing defensive d-man to play w/ Ericsson, and maybe a solid 1B goalie. We could also use some young talented skaters, our goalies for the future are set.
Trade Assets-
Rafalski(NMC), Stuart(NMC), Cleary(NMC), Howard, Lebda, Leino(others may disagree), rights to Jiri Huddler, lots of B-C level propects(Ritola, McGrath, ect. ) Posted via Mobile Device
Let me know if you like the current format (or else I will figure out how to make it a chart)
Looks fine. We just need to have this thread stickied and have the chart updated on a fairly regular basis and it will really help keep the trade discussion going in the right direction.
Willing to move this season:
Sopel, Campbell, Huet
Willing to move this summer:
Ladd, Byfuglien, Barker, Versteeg
If you want to make a proposal involving Chicago make sure it meets this criteria unless its an overpayment.
I think you should move Campbell from this season to this summer. Campbell is a huge part of our success and the only reason our team wants to move him is because of his contract. He helps our chances now, so the only reason we'd dump him this season is for someone who plays similarly with a cheaper contract. Other than this, I agree with this list.
The Bruins only glaring need is for some goal scoring wingers. Center, defence and goaltending are set and deep.
Assets: A deep pool of prospects, specifically Valdimir Sobotka, Brad Marchand, Matt Hamill, Joe Colborne. 4 guys I don't really want to deal, but I realize you have to give value to get value. In addition, the Bruins have 4 of the top 60 picks in this year's draft, and I believe 4 more in the top 60 next year.

I'm going to keep her updated when possible, I'm on here just about everyday.
Just to help, I will not list actual players until I have seen their names enough to make it obvious that there is a consensus. That way it won't be changing with every opinion. If I see an opinion that seems to be a trend, I will just list the post number and other team fans can comment.
