Deslauriers will be as good as our defence allows him to be. if the d steps up and the forwards come back into the zone and contribute then i think he can carry us till khabibulin returns. he has the potential to do so anyway. but hes still young and has a lot of work before he is a starter in this league.

to be honest i think 1 more cellar yaer for the oil wouldnt be a bad thing and im not suggesting dd or jdd will allow that to happen but im not frustrated that khabi is injured thats forsure.....

You don't understand I followed DD through the WHL and was super excited when the Oil drafted him. In my opinion teh guy has been Springfields MVP last season and this season. Probably sharing MVP with Minard this season until he went down, but still.

That's the issue with a message board. If we were talking face to face I wouldn't have to say "wetting" as you coudl tell with my facial expressions. But when it comes to typing you definitely have to be over dramatic.
Kevin Smith on the other hand whether face to face or on the net will tell it how it is.
This is finally JD's chance to play a string of games in a row and show what he has. I think the timing is perfect. If Habby is out for awhile, I'm sure all Oiler fans are curious to see how DD would do in a game or two as well. I say rest Habby and do not rush him, this is a good thing imo.

I agree, it would be nice for JD to get 4 of 5 games DD to get one, and Khabi to get a good rest so he is healthy when he returns.
Although the development of our younger goalies could be detrimental at this point.
JDD can handle fairly long stretches of play, but needs a fair bit of rest afterwards or his game gets out of sorts. I would be fine with a tandem of JDD and Dubnyk for a long stretch as long as the club plays more like their first 8 games of the year than how they've played since.
