Broken Jaw.

The guy has the worst luck imaginable. He wasn't even playing.

Honestly, I rather have Elliot for the month anyway. Leclaire is a better goalie when he's on his game, but he lets in the occasional softie that just kills the team.

Saw that on on the fly last night. He really does have bad luck. Very skilled though. I like Pascal. This means good things for us on Saturady night against them. The B's will prolly play Timmy cause all he does is eat up the Sens.

Elliott is a very capable goalie, I'm not too concerned. that being said, the bruins always beat the sens anyways.

What happened ? did his mask fall off and just the shot somehow found it's way underneath his mask and avoid the plastic neck guard (if he even wears one, don't remember)

Seems that way, sadly.

We also have 5 games in 8 days (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday).

We're without Leclaire, Donovan, Volchenkov, and possibly Kovalev (depending on when he gets back)....which means other players are playing more.

Do I think this means we *will* lose? No, not necessarily.... but when you combine it with our dismal past performances against the Bruins, I'm not optimistic.

He was sitting on the bench as a backup that game.

He had a minor pull the game before and decided to sit for a game. I guess that was a mistake...

Elliot is pretty good, so it's not the end of the world.

^ He was on the bench.

This sucks for the SENS.

No biggie eh Pyke? nice guy. what you content playing Elliott 12 games in a row? Elliotts good an all but this is a setback for the team no matter what way you look at it.

Nope, he was sitting on the bench when a puck came over the boards. Elliott got the start.

I'm fine with playing Elliot 12 games in a row, yes.

It's November, a month puts us at the Christmas break, he'll have time to recover. He'll also have time to recoup over the Olympic break.

Elliot is a VERY good goalie, and while I do think getting Leclaire is an improvement for our team, I'm confident with Elliot in the net too.

The biggest loss, as far as I'm concerned, is that Leclaire already had some rust issues and needs to work on his positioning for the soft goals he's letting in. His rebound control also needs some work.

There's no doubt in my mind though that Leclaire would be better for us long-term, but, we're talking 12 games, not forever.

All goalies should be wearing helmets on the bench.

Now to after the game against the pens on Dec 23rd

-15 games total
-9 road, 6 home
-3 back to back sets
-a western swing with 4 games in 6 days
-5 games against division rivals
-7 games against teams with records equal or better than the SENS (NJ x 2, CBJ, SJ, LA, BUF, PIT)

big test for Elliott to say the least. Love the guy, have confidence in him but in fairness we should be happy to emerge .500 through it all.

One of few guys in the league that might look better after a puck in the face.

Man that stinks. Poor guy just can't catch a break. I think he needs to go see a voodoo doctor to cure his carma.

The biggest upside is the number of Western teams in this stretch, 6/15 meaning points aren't going to other Eastern clubs. Aside from the next back to back, we at least play a weaker club at the end of the other two.

Not the best situation, but Elliot did pick up a portion of his 8 game win streak on the road last year. In fact, we were probably worse playing at home.

Have you worn a goalie helmet? No one wants to wear that **** unless they absolutely have to.

So boys and girls just a little advice from a guy who coached in the NHL. Remember when you are the backup goalie sitting on the bench make sure that you have your face mask on.

Yours truly, Donald S. Cherry.

Maybe goalies are going to start wearing masks or something now.
