Nov 23 09 || Islanders at Leafs || Need to Take More Shots

60+ ****ing shots and you lose to the Islanders..

White and Kaberle messed that up REAL good.

OHL vs Russian Selects (feat. Kadri) is on Sportsnet Ontario soon. It's not live in ON.

White with his worst game of the year

Leafs made Roloson look like a great goalie

I'm starting to think the only thing monsterous about Gustavsson is his rebounds.

if it's not the Isles, it's the Canes. if it's not Canes, its Minnisota...

this was a good game, but .. like i said in the GDT - one PP goal... or toskala stops 1 of those 3 shots...
totally different game.

What a difference a single playmaker and nifty passer would make on this team... this teams busts their ass but nobody can set up goals. The shooting is a problem but even moreso, with the way we were dominating a single skilled C could've set up 5 2 on 1s down low and passed it to an open player for a gimme score.

it's actually not surprising at all...

it's the same script...the Leaf forwards work very hard and you can't fault them for that...

but few of the forwards can finish...

this group of forwards can't win....god love them for their constant effort though.

That's why I keep saying, bring up the college line...

or please at least bring up Hanson first...he goes to the net.

He played like a true Leaf player.

Watched only 2 minutes and 33 seconds of the game (OT)...man...I was so happy when I came back home after finishing my exam!

Only the Leafs could lose like this.

60+ shots, only record 3 goals, and lose.

We clearly dominated the game. We just don't have finishers.

Waive Blake and Mitchell

Bring up Stalberg and Bozak and hope that Stalberg can bring htat point production he produced in the preseason.

I agree 100%. I can't pin the blame on Gusto in this one, Leafs had have had more success on the PP and Toskala had of made a save or Roloson hadn't been in god mode. We'd be singing a different tune, the winning one.

Thats just it. The leafs work hard. They generate offense. They just can't finish it.

Man, this gets frustrating. We've been the best team in at least 12 of the 22 games this year. We need more goalscorers.

If we won, burke would think he didn't need to do anything with this team. They had to lose for the sake of change.

Leafs might need two players anyway if Mitchell has to be put down, and they want another skilled player up.

Oh, I agree a win might make Burke complacent.

Blowing 5 goal leads are reserved for the Calgary Flames

Kessel was all over the place today, if we could have a finisher with lots of upside like Mueller and a decent playmaking centre.......

I don't think Playmaking is the problem to be quite honest. We get the shooting oppertunities. We just don't generate them into goals.

Would it be nice to have better playmaking? Yes. But Shooters are what we're lacking the most IMO.

This team has a knack of making the opposing goalie look patrick roy like.

We would have won the game if it wasn't for the 3 goals on 3 shots let in by Toskala -- yes, Roloson played amazing, but we got 3 by him, so that was enough to win the game if Toskala did not let in those goals. Were they all high on the glove side? What a weak glove, everyone has scouted him pretty well and knows where to shoot the puck.

this is the silver lining...it's true...

no need to give Burkie reasons to not bring up a couple guys or pull the trigger on the save...
