Hawks win their 7th straight - 11GA during that streak
Damn impressive, hottest club in the NHL right now. They also have the 2nd best PK and beat all 3 western canadian clubs on their west coast trip. Tues Hossa is expected back in the lineup vs the Sharks. Coach Q is doing a damn fine job with this young squad. Can we say early candidate for the Jack adams?

Impressive, even Edmonton???
Yes, this team is fun to watch except when they're making your team look like an ECHL team. If they can move around some bodies and get their guys signed, they could very easily become The Penguins of the West.

Score in Edmonton was 5-2. Hawks
Happy to get this win tonight against the Nucks. Back to back game, and stil lgot the 2 points.
While the big victories over Calgary and Edmonton were nice, this win is almost better. A tired team took on a quality team in their building, and eked out a heart and soul victory. Those are the games a team needs to win if they want to be a true contender.
Oh, and a 3-time 40 goal scorer joins us on Wednesday. So that's nice, too.

It was a back to back game and clearly it looked like the Hawks were lacking that 2nd gear. The passes were especially sloppy tonight(On both sides).
As far as I'm concerned we should have lost, but Niemi put the team on his shoulders. I'm satisfied with the result
Agreed, Niemi was the one guy who didn't play last night. We needed him to be our best player tonight, and he was. Canucks did everything else right tonight. Hawks should enjoy having the day off tomorrow.
The Blackhawks are everything the Oilers want to be.
They're playing good hockey right now. Huet's been a big part of that, something like a low 2.xx GAA in his last 10 games. If he started good, they'd be higher in the standings.
Just imagine if the management hadn't ****ed up all those contracts over the off-season, they could be a great team for more than just one season.
They will be a great team and challenger going forward too. They just won't be as deep on paper as what they are this season where they are truly stacked. But this will happen to all good emerging teams coming up with young, great, drafted players, and some times it just doesn't matter because they development of the good young players override those losses. Will Versteeg, Buff, Ladd etc. be missed. Yeah, and injuries to top guys will be harder to take. But Toews, Kane, Keith etc. will carry an even bigger load too, and if Chicago are smart, they get decent assets for the guys they signed last offseason and keep the pipeline churning.
Todays winner: Bickell... who? A 6.4/225 pounds winger playing with Toews. On the horizon, Kyle Beach etc. Get some first rounders or good prospects on affordable contracts back for those who leave for cap-reasons, replenish with vets for the bottom six (ala Rupp and Adams this off season for the Pens) - still a contender for sure. If the management does well and the young guns are as good as they seem, that is.
Of course, this season they have a really good shot at the Cup, perhaps more so than what they will going forward. But they'll still be elite.

We'll be fine.
We have some damn good prospects on the horizon in Kruger, Beach, Aliu, Lalonde, Skille, and Olsen.
Whomever we trade we'll be sure to get good returns on in players and draft picks. We lose some proven talent, and some of the contracts we have are bad, but we won't come out of it a terrible team or anything. Besides Campbell, we'll probably missing Sopel, and a couple of other guys.

Their has always got to be one in every hawks thread. Oh and we will be just fine next year and so on. Why don't you get more educated on the subject, Hawks we be very good for a long time.

Thank you a very good post on the subject. That's just how it is with all really good teams in cap era. You just have to lock up your core and then make good decisions and draft well and so on.
