Jason Blake and Jeff Finger absent from #Leafs practice Sunday. Finger suffered a lower body bruise on Saturday and didn't play in the 3rd.

Now we know why Finger sat for the 3rd, wonder why Blake wasn't at practice? Could be another injury but I didn't notice anything last night, I know moves weren't planned until Tuesday if at all but could something be happening?

No, don't get your hopes up. Probably one of those infamous "maintenance days". They aren't going to be calling any Marlies up for a Monday game since the Marlies will have played three games in three days by the end of today.

As of today Leafs only have $1.2 mil free cap space .. That means if any deal is made that will bring in salary above that a Cap move will need to be made..
Lets all cross our Jeff Fingers that Blake is going to be that player that gets waived to bring in change.
e took a few good hits last night... maybe just getting the day off... i'm not getting my hopes up
For as much hate as he gets (deserves?) around here, he ran over their goalie twice (weak penalty call), took a bunch of hits in both ends of the ice, and was the shooter on "Hagman's" goal.
He is overpaid based on production, but I have always liked his effort. Hell, the dude has leukemia. I'm not using that as an excuse, but neither is he.
If he can be moved to free up cap space, or get something in return, thats fine by me. But he is one player I can see thriving in a new town. Especially if he is behind 2 good lines, he will get to play against 3rd and 4th line pluggers regularily.

the effort is there but sadly not every night... he is useless on his "off nights" b/c he doesn't do much else... his price tag sucks and he won't be moved, we all know that...

If Gomez can be moved and get something in return, anyone can be moved.

if Blake gets waived ,they still have to pay him full salary unless another team claims him, correct ?
