Only if Atl could not sign Kovulchuk and he would come to Edm and sign long term would you take this package.

Gilbert
O'Sullivan
Cogliano
Omark

You are getting a puck moving dman and 3 young players that can all have the potential to score between 20 - 30 goals. This will give you team more depth and help your team now and in the future.

Have any of you heard any rumors about the contract talks and how much Kovalchuk is looking for.

Omark is tiny, you have better F prospects.

We also have no need for Gilbert with Hainsey, Bogosian, and Enstrom all tied up for a while.

I guess it's time to settle in and watch all the trade nonsense trickle in....

I firmly believe the attendance numbers are what Kovalchuk is looking at. If people start showing up, he signs quicker. He's acknowledged the team is moving in the right direction, he's said over and over he wants people to show up at games. The ownership will foot whatever costs he wants....it's all up to the fans who want to blame everyone else but themselves for not showing up. The seats are as cheap as it gets, the scalpers are even giving tickets away for the most part. The owners heard the fan complaints, they allowed Waddell to bring in Rick Dudley to remake the team.....

Any deal with Edmonton would need Cogliano or Gagner.

I don't know if Edmonton would be able to sign him long term. They have big crowds but not a great future. They certainly aren't a Cup contender so why would they even trade for Kovy?

Take out Omark and Gilbert, add a first and I do it. Gagner would look great in Thrashers colors.

Nope. For an established superstar like Kovy, picks may be nice to sweeten a deal, but the Thrashers need to know what they are getting instead of a bunch of unknowns. If Kovy walks, the franchise is set
back far enough nermind waiting years for prospects to pan out.

Horcoff
Cogliano

For an unsigned Kovalchuk, maybe atlanta can take Moreau as well (for Oilers cap reasons)

No... you want Kovalchuk? Well we want Hemsky, Gagner, Gilbert, 2 first round picks, and a highly touted prospect.....

Didn't think so.

Stop. Please, just stop.

Fans of every team have asked the same "what if" scenario. That horse has been beaten, killed, field dressed, processed, distributed, wholesaled, retailed, sold, etc.

Until he actually shows his hand and says that he wants to leave, all we've got got is speculation and boatloads full of media-induced/hyeractive fan fueled fap-fests of where he could end up.

I truly get it; he could very well leave and that would be huge news. Believe me, us fans here know it and feel it more than you. He is one of those special players; for any franchise, they come around very infrequently.

But for the sanity of everyone around here, please keep this bunk on the NHL talk board or Trade Rumors board. Some have engaged you here but that's purely a defense mechanism; an automatic/stock response given all the previous inquiries.
