The winners were contacted already. I was one of them, but I found out he was a New Moon fan, so I traded my ticket to Rin for an egg salad sandwich. She then traded it to Cloned for a promise that he won't use innuendos for a week.

How was the sandwich? I'm a pro scrambled egg sandwich maker, my secret recipe is like amazing.
Why? did tweens watch very deep moving life changing movies in past generations? It is what it is... fluff.
Regarding the state of humanity in entertainment...only 1 out of the top 20 blockbusters since 2000 is not a remake or sequel.
that just proves that:
a) writers, producers and movie companies have no balls to take on radical story telling and just want to perpetuate the same old cultural mythology. they have nowhere else to turn and no new stories to tell and need to keep generating money to run their stupid celebrity industry. theres plenty of room for more radical ideas in movies but they dont have the guts.
b) if "life changing" moments/revelations come to people through movies - thats a sad state of experience. its as dumb as learning life lessons through sitcoms.
You know, it's not even the teenage girls that bother me. They don't know any better. It's the 40-year-old moms who are superfans that creep me out.
10 years ago 40-year-old moms creeped me out, but now....
Anyways, I watched the first one with my wife (dont worry, there was a trade off). Both of us just found that it had a weak plot and shallow characters, when it was finished we had a /ugh feeling. I wont even go into the ridiculous plot holes that glared out at even a disinterested non fan.
"True Blood" on HBO is a watchable vampire series.

movies are a resource-heavy bore.
A. I agree, profit margins run hollywood and not many risks are being taken, just reproducing popcorn flicks and/or "safe bets".
B. I am not sure what you are ranting about here, but you took my sentence out of context. Regardless...comparing sitcoms to movies is apples to oranges. Something like Shindlers List tells a story of a time people within the last couple or so generations havent experienced, and can give people another perspective.
Most movies dont do that much anymore, but some movies tell a story and certain stories can have a moral to the story, show you things you might not see "where ever you are from"..and give a different perspective, or just make you feel good or think.

Since you clearly have something against the medium and are generalizing all movies into one lump bunch, I wont argue with you...but this comment is pretty weak.
EDIT: There are far better movies when you move out of the mainstream pipelines. Where the directors have the ability to take risks and make what they want. Also when you look at imdb.com...most of my favorite movies dont get rated more then 5-7. Thats because people "didnt get it", it didnt leave them happy at the end or offended them in "some" way. Which tells me my taste in what makes a movie good will always be in the minority.
