6 Points OUT OF 1ST!

For all the doom and gloom, we now find ourselves 6 points back of Washington for 1st place in the conference! When Savard comes back next week, this team is poised to make a charge.

But the sky is falling! This team needs a good knee-jerk trade ASAP!

I smile as I read my post history. Sometimes this board is ridiculous.

Can't wait to see Savard back on the ice. With Savard on the PP hopefully they can get that part of the game rolling. With everyone back the team should be looking foward to taking over first in the Northeast Division.

When Savard got hurt I wanted the team to play 0.500 hockey. They have exceeded my expectations, but let’s not get a head of our self. There are so many injuries in the NHL right now that bad teams have a chance to do well.

Chara is a bum. Thomas and Rask aren't cup contendors!

Hey, it's better than looking at it being only 4 points out of 13th while playing 2 extra games.

I am totally down with the cup half full vision! =)

Most importantly we've stayed in contention while Lucic and Savard were down with injuries. That was the most important thing. Now they are back and we should be climbing the ranks back up to top spot in our division.

The games in hand suck though. We need to let other teams catch up so we can see where we really stand

haha...

Ya know. This thread is just as knee-jerk and reactionary as the ones that prop up after a tough loss to the Cup champs saying we're going to have two top10 picks this year.

We lose two- "We'll never win again, fire everyone...
We win two- "We're 6points out of 1st!"

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

well.. if you wanna play this game you could also say that we're 2 points away from being the montreal canadiens.. or 4 points away from being 13th (florida) when they have 2 games in hand on us!

haha just messin

Although, I really think the team will improve greatly with Savard being back. Lucic is already making a difference.

Despite being just as frustrated/perplexed/concerned as the rest of the fan base, when I shook my head long enough, I just relaxed and recognized that a) the B`s are a much better team than their record tells us b) they are slowly getting healthy and c) the Eastern conference is not exactly a strong one.

The Pens/Flyers/Caps and B`s are the 4 teams that I had as being the only ones you could kind of bank on in regards to playoff berths, the rest of the conference was a crapshoot. Quick starts from the Sabres/Thrashers have not changed my mind, I just am not sold on the fact that either of those teams have the potential to be major conference challengers over the stretch of the season.

Inconsistency is the theme of the East, let`s hope the injury bug is done with for the B`s.

It's certainly a logjam in there. Bruins have the worst PP in the league right now, and Savard looks to be back Monday. Increasing the goals on the PP is going to be of critical importance. Krecji line finally looking good. Conditions are ripe to make a good run here.

It is very disconcerting that we have "the hardest shot in the NHL" as well as strong complimentary D men in Morris and Wideman - yet our PP is so loathsome.

I am really wondering if its time to get primitive on the PP.

Stick Bitz and Looch in front, and just let them fly from the blue line.

Yeah and 4 pts out of 13th place...

This team is coming along pretty nicely...Having Lucic back will open up some room, and Wheeler has been skating and competing very well....Ryder and Sturm should get going soon.

I still say we win this division when it's all said and done, but it's not about that anymore...This team needs a CF appearance to claim any sort of success IMO.

I think it's as simple as not having Savard as PP QB. It looks to me like the guys are just trying to play keepaway out there right now and not turnover the puck. I remember a lot of Chara PP goals coming from him cheating in and getting cross-ice passes from Savard. I expect once they figure out who plays first PP with Savard (Strum and Recchi?), that it'll look good. And I'm hoping they simply put the entire Krecji/Ryder/Wheeler line out as 2'nd unit.

How about Morris? I'm so impressed with him, he's not flashy but he just seems to make few mistakes out there, and mistakes by D men can kill a team.

The truth is that the B's are six points out of first place. Unless, of course, you're willing to say statistics are not objective.....

I think most have been posting about changing things, including style of play. I am not sure anyone (okay, maybe a few) are saying blow up the team and start over.

You are a fool if you think the B's are out of their funk after just 2 wins....

Most of Bruins fan nation have become Missouri, ya know the "SHOW ME" state.

I like the change in goal so far.

You like the fact that Rask has to start because of a Thomas injury?
