Eklund: Oilers may make HUGE offer for Semin or Kovalchuk.
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklun...alchuk/1/24429

You may not like him/believe him; and I may not believe him – granted I simply couldn’t care any less about him, but the ‘rumor’ is interesting. And really, is he any worse than the other rumor sites which ‘we’ commonly see on these boards? I don’t know that they get any more right than Ek does.

edit: And I really want to believe that the Oilers are going after Kovalchuk... Semin? Not so much.

Kovalchuk-??????-Hemsky
Penner-???????-???????

Eklund reading HF again, lol.

As for the Oil signing a U of A player? I could see it if it got to that point, there's definately some guys on the Bears that could hold their own for the VERY short term.

I like the article on Gilbert that he realizes he's not playing well enough and has vowed to improve.

The injury list isn't accurate. The Oilers have lost 122 man-games to injury, not 105.

I think the answer in a deal with WASH would be obtaining both David Steckel and Brooks Laich.

What would that take?

That eklund article says the oilers are offering o top six forwards. I wonder who that would be.

Cogliano and hemsky are my two best bets or maybe horcoff and cogliano and a bunch of firsts would be my only idea.

It would be sweet for Hemsky to have an elite goal scorer to play with, but trading away Hemmer to obtain said sniper might not be the best idea

Yeah, but if they put the Oilers ahead of the Canucks in any category, their fans would start crying.

Critical thought on a hockey blog... yes, I see your point . And by critical thought of course you mean Spector - or other rumor sites that are commonly reported on the daily reports. The fickle nature of the people on this board never fails to amaze me.

Question: Why comment? I mean, if you just feel a need to be heard than admit it; otherwise your comments are just as baseless as Eklund. I am sorry to have cost you the 10 seconds it cost you to read the original post... 10 seconds, less time than it took you to write your reply.

Never mind the fickleness (although that is still an issue), the pseudo-elitism on this board never fails to amaze me. You are commenting on a hockey blog... cripes, they cite the "Sun" (and that is no better than Eklund).

edit: And, you have Mr.T as your avatar. Critical thought... give me a break. This site is junk-food for the brain and little more. Eklund is as valuable as half of what is reported here (among the bloggers, rumor mongers, and the Sun) - most of it is just one person's opinion. If you want actual news, tune into the BBC.
