Kypreos/Danton Interview: Anyone watch it?
Thought I would change the topic from the frustrations we are all feeling around the lack of scoring and see if anyone had the chance to watch Kippers hour long interview with Danton?
His story is well documented, after watching the interview, and reading another piece by Mark Spector on the Sportsnet website, you have to feel, despite Danton`s questionable judgement, empathy towards Danton.
Spector`s column is titled "He never had a chance", referring to his harsh upbringing. Then having a guy like Frost manipulating a young man into some of the things he pulled Danton into. He knew no other way.
Flash forward to today, Danton is free, he served his time, I am assuming he is receiving professional mental help and he expressed his desire to return to the "only thing he knows"-hockey.
It was a great piece, I`m not a Kipper guy, but he did a great interview, wasn`t some in your face expose but a solid sit down with a guy who was a relatively effective player, who has now done his time, has taken responsibility for what he has done without casting any blame in any direction but his own while admitting every wrong turn he took in his personal life.
Question is: if GB re-instates him, and he shows he can still play the game, anyone think someone will take a chance on him? He tells Kipper he and Frost are in no way, shape or form to be continuing their relationship in regards to anything hockey.
The full interview can be seen on sportsnet.ca
