Well Staal would be a 2 nd liner on most teams in the NHL,imagine Staal and Kesler on the same line
I do this from a Canucks POV.

if one more canuck fan says no to this trade, i may lose what little faith i have left for my fellow nuck fans!
seriously, skeletor?
bieksa, hansen and grabner for staal? gillis gets vigneault to punch him in the face to make sure he's awake seeing that offer. i drool (homer simpson style) at staal and kesler on the same line!

I would make the first trade and keep Frolov.
Raymond - Kesler - Frolov > Raymond - Staal - Kesler

Then how do you get Staal?
Edit: note to all Grabner has a fractured ankle.

we don't. If we landed Frolov I wouldn't be in favour of flipping him for Jordan Staal. Frolov would be a great fit with Kesler.

A playoff run with Frolov is worth more than 3 more seasons of Jordan Staal eating 4M in cap space.

that just doesnt make any sense!
staal may be overrated but not at that price. he's got a good contract for a number of years, plays on the 3rd line (2nd on nucks), it moves kesler to the wing ( i think he'd be more effective there).
i don't think its enough to acquire him with that offer. wait for non nucks fans to hit this one.

I really like Staal but he has to be one of the most overrated players on HF. I blame Cherry.
We lose a top pairing D man, (not on every team but he is on the Canucks) 2 of our better prospects and a 4th round pick so we can move a guy who has emerged as a legit 2nd line center (Kesler) to the wing?
Staal is one of the best 3rd line centers in the league but as far as I'm concerned Kesler and Henrik own the top 2 center spots meaning we just gave up a lot of valuable assets for, that's right, a great 3rd line center.
No thanks, I would rather look for a good 3rd line center who's price is considerably lower at the deadline than empty the cupboard for Staal.

Not that I don't agree, but Pierre McGuire is hyping the guy to be on team Canada.

Here is a list of 20 year olds who have completely shut down two or more 100 point scorers in the past couple years of playoffs while averaging over 22 goals per year his first three years in the league:
None.
If you all think he sucks so much, why the hell is it always fans of other teams trying to trade for him here, in at least ten threads per month?
