Frolov or Sharp

There's been a discussion going on about who's the better player between Frolov and Sharp. Lets see your opinions.

Hard to say. I think Sharp can have just as big an impact on the game offensively. Shorthanded Sharp has the edge, Powerplay....I don't know.
Probably even.

Pretty tough decision. I think Sharp has his overall game just a little more refined than Frolov and looks like a good character and leadership guy. Both are good in terms of defense but i know Sharp is used on pk, not sure about Frolov. I would take Sharp most likely.

If Fro would try 100% of the time instead of lets say 65% he would fly past Sharp, but since he is inconsistent I think its pretty even.

Big Frolov fan, as you may notice, but I wouldn't give him a penny more than $4.5M-$5M.

He's worth that kind of money but he does dissapear for about 15-20 games a year. That happens to almost anyone but somehow he's also completely useless in that stretch.

That's why $5M maximum.

Salty Justice has a point but exaggerates though.

Sharp 352 gp 107G 84A 191Points .54 pts/game

Frolov 471gp 153G 190A 343 Points .73 pts/game

Both are 27 years old.

I don't think it's even close...

This is one of those times career stats don't say the truth. Sharp was a late bloomer, while Frolov has produced since he was younger. But the poll is who is better now not had a better overall career. And really Sharp just broke out two years ago.

Look at the stats for the last two seasons plus this year:
Sharp 62g 52a 114p 157gp .73ppg
Frolov 59g 80a 139p 165gp .84ppg

As you can see the stats are very close over the last 2+ seasons Frolov would get you 9 more points over a 82 game season. While I think Frolov is slightly better in the O-zone, Sharp is better in is own zone and bring a better all-around game.

One other reason I will take Sharp is just look at what Hawks fans say about him they love the guy. Now go look at some Kings game threads (last nights against hawks) they ride him a lot question his effort and consistency. They bash he for taking plays off as well. You never here about Sharp taking plays off, him is always back checking hard and doing the little thing that help your team win even when you don't show up on the score sheet.

I would say its like this more naturally skilled hockey player Frolov, better actual hockey player Sharp.

There are 3 Frolov's - the grinder with hands, the guy that can dangle past guys to score a goal, and the guy that throws suicide turnovers

I cant really judge Sharp since I haven't seen him enough, but I can say that he has a much better shot than Frolov

You think that Frolov playing a stopper role might have anything to do with that? Or the difference in talent level of teammates? Im sure Handzus and Simmonds rank up there with Kane and Toews. Or could we compare Armstrong to Havlat? The only guy that Frolov has played regularly with that is on that level is Cammalleri and that was for 50 games.

Calling Sharp a better all around player is arguable. He may be a little faster than Frolov and have a slightly better shot but everything else is comparable and Frolov has outproduced him playing with lesser talent.

Who has more talent and natural skill? Frolov without a doubt in my mind.

Who is a better player currently? Sharp, because he's far more consistent.

Sorry Sharp is much better in his own zone. Frolov may be better at times but not close overall. I saw Frolov float around on his back checking and d- coverage more times in the Hawks-Kings game then you will see Sharp do that crap all year long. A lot about being good in your own zone is heart and determination. And don't tell me watch more Kings games I have watched plenty and half the Kings fans call out Frolov for playing lazy at times. While Sharp is never called out for this.
