am I the only one who thinks thats a very valid statement of his?
Nope, i agree with that as well. Despite the ****** play of Price, the Habs keep tagging him the starting job. Last year Halak saved their ass, and i thought that would ensure him the starting job. As of now, Halak seems like the better goalie to me. Not saying Price is crap, but so far Halak seems better, at least this year. .
however there is notably different potential there.. however price seems to have gone the way of raycroft... and like raycroft he'll eventually bounce back... but the #1 rock, record contending goalie is a rare breed.
Halak is an RFA just like Price at the end of this season. While it isn't a particularly nice thing to say, its obvious that hes trying stir the pot to put pressure for him to be their #1 and get a new contract.
I agree. If I was that agent I would be trying to get halak out of there asap. He has been better then price recently and for most of last year. Halak comes in, dominates, has 1 bad game (probably b/c they start him until hes done, instead of giving him a break every 4-5 games) and then price gets the starting job again.
There is nothing wrong with stating facts. A friend of mine is in criminology, his prof stated some fact regarding minorities in Canada. One kid stood up and called him a racist. NUMBERS CANNOT BE PREJUDICE. The method they are calculated can be however, but this is not the case. Price has just sucked over the past year.
It's not he tweeted " Man the Price is soooooooo wrong *****, Carey suxs so bad he makes Toskalolfocopter look like Terry Sawchuk!" - that would have been mean.
Because sometimes facts hurt people's feelings and it should not be stated to protect those hurt people lol
Uhh, no.
He can state it all he wants if he were in a closed door negotiation with the habs to discuss his client. There's a time and a place for these kinds of remarks.
I just think it's extremely unprofessional to embarrass an individual and cause a possible rift between him and his team mate. That's not doing Halak any favours.
But I will agree that Bob Gainey's mancrush on Price is hurting the team.
I think it's perfectly fair. Even if Halak said it, I think it would be fair.
Halak has outplayed Price every season of both of their careers, and he can't get a break. Even after leading Montreal to the playoffs in 06-07 after Huet went down, posting a .906 sv% as a 21 year old. The season after, he was sent to the AHL in favour of Price.
This season, they're both struggling behind weak D, but at least Halak has gotten wins. The team has more confidence in him.
Halak, at least for now, is the better goalie, and he deserves to be a starter somewhere.

I agree Halak deserves to start. Maybe the Hawks will help with that
Huet can rot in Rockford for next 2 yrs, I want Halak or Harding on Hawks
