Steven Stamkos vs Anze Kopitar Long Term

Two young star-power forwards, who would you take long term?

Best answer: I think they're about even. Anze is maybe more of a playmaker, Stammer shoots a little better.

wow stamkos, so young already and on pace for 50+ goals. Hope he can keep it up.

If you mean that Stamkos is a better sniper, that's very well possible but I wouldnt call Anze a real playmaker.

Id rather have Stamkos

I think he has one of the best shots in the game today

His passing ability is underrated too

Stamkos really impressed me late last year, as well as in the World Championships. So far this year, he has not disappointed. He is so dangerous coming into the offensive zone down the right wing, and has a lethal shot. One of the quickest releases in the game today. I love Kopitars game, but I really believe Stamkos is going to be special.

I think Stamkos will be better. Long term stamkos by quite a bit. I like his goal scoring ability, his breakaway speed, his one timer and the fact that he's strong at both ends. I like him a lot more.

Kopitar. It's funny that Stamkos is winning this, I guess this is due to the fact that he's been scoring about a goal per game. Don't forget though, he'll cool off. Kopitar on the other hand is, as you kids say, 'for real'.

At this point, I'd say too close to call. If I had a gun to my head I'd probably pick Stamkos.

Why is Kopitar 'for real' and not Stamkos?

I think they'll both peak as players who perenially put up around 90 points. It's damn close.

Well, to be fair, Kopitar had more points his rookie season, and already has a 77-point season under his belt.

He's definitely more established.

Posts like these always makes me wonder.. Are you saying its close, but you're voting for Stamkos because he's from Canada?

I'm surprised if not shocked that Stamkos is leading this by such a margin. Stamkos ending up better than Kopitar is a very real possibility but one would think this would be a little closer.

Stamkos is captain material and will be a good two-way player.

Good question. I'll go with Stamkos, but who knows, they're both just hitting their stride.

Out of curiosity, are you implying Kopitar isn't captain material?

Stamkos, just barely. I think he could be a bit more dynamic and physically dominant.

I love Stammer but physically dominant isn't the exactly right term to use. It's very close to even but I went with Steven, because I'm a homer.

Stamkos.

They're both ripping it up, but I'll take the 19 year old who is dominating over the 22 year old who is dominating.

I'm a Kings fan, and even I'd say Stamkos; but those of you saying 'it's not even close,' get real.

Also, as for the implication that Kopitar isn't a good two-way player, give your head a shake. He's better than Stamkos in that regard right now, though the book on Stammer suggests he'll outshine Kopi long-term in that area too.
