I must have missed something. I couldn't find anything offensive in anything Sully said, save perhaps for, "That's because I played with a guy who passed all the time", meaning--I think--that he played with a set up guy.

And that seemed very self-depreciating.

He gave the credit for his good year to someone else.

I don't know if this was posted previously but this is an excellent read from Eliott Friedman if you are interested in the NHLPA.

Is anyone else tired of the same old excuses? From Pisani:

Quote:
It's one of those things where we have to simplify our game. We're trying to get too cute with the puck instead of just throwing it on the net and getting an ugly goal.
We seem to hear that every year from players. Too cute? How about too lazy. Too indifferent. Too soft. I don't think you need ugly goals. But you're not going to score from the perimeter. The hard play would be cutting to the slot instead of stick-handling at the boards.

Throwing it on net is the philosophy that lets Moreau shoot from the goal line every time he skates into the zone and doesn't cut to the net. How often does that work? 1/100 times?

we hear **** like that all the time. there are 3 or 4 party lines they tend to revert to when things are going badly. sometimes i dont even know if they bother to choose which one to say, they just flip a coin or something. frankly, its exhausting. they preach garbage like this all the time and of course change nothing when it comes to game time.
