We seem to hear that every year from players. Too cute? How about too lazy. Too indifferent. Too soft. I don't think you need ugly goals. But you're not going to score from the perimeter. The hard play would be cutting to the slot instead of stick-handling at the boards.
Throwing it on net is the philosophy that lets Moreau shoot from the goal line every time he skates into the zone and doesn't cut to the net. How often does that work? 1/100 times?
