Nylander waived - Should the Habs pick him up?
Nylander waived today!
http://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie/status/5510307378
Should the Habs pick him up for the top 6 and try to move Plekanec while he is hot for a winger or a winger and a prospect or pick?
Discuss!

Nylander sucks, he's not the player he used to be, I say Plekanec is better fort his team then Nylander.

Don't know his situation..hasn't played a game..but I'd be willing to take a chance.
His contract is a bummer though, but he could be our 2009-2010 Lang.
Never would I trade Plek though. He's been our best player since the season started.
I want Plek re-signed for the next years as well.

Can we pick him up and play him on our 3rd or 4th line? I mean it wouldn't hurt to have an experienced vet playing with us?

Are you nuts? Dump on Plek and take on Michael ****ing Nylander?
Maybe if he was put on re-entry, for $2 million I would definitely be interested.

Amazes me how you can even think of swapping Nylander in for Plek.

They waived him because he is so awesome, full of character and the players really look up to him.

He might get a slight consideration on re-entry waivers. But that's all.

I guess I'm the only one, but I think Nylander is underrated. Just because Boudreau hates him doesn't make him a bad player. He was a PPG player just a few seasons ago.

Not surprised. Coming from the same guy who made such a great thread:
Finishing in the bottom 5 for the next 5 seasons ...

He's 37. A few seasons ago can be a long time ago for someone as old.
That being said, I'd love to have him here playing on 3rd line getting around 50pts. If he shows he can still be a 1pt/gp player, then put him on 2nd along side Plek.
The reason I'd welcome him though is because it would give us more offensive options. Something we're really lacking now.

With a scrub like Jaromir Jagr on his line, nonetheless
