Andy Sutton has a 3 million cap hit, but is a free agent after this season. Martinek is half the price but an extra year.

why not? AA has talent but he's not what this team needs.
Girardi will be in TOrts doghouse soon enough, I just know it. We have a wealth of young D that I doubt Sather will trade. He'll be gone soon enough.
Buf is big, hits, scores, will throw done, everything this team needs

To all reading this thread, please don't take the words of this ranger's....fan as true. Girardi may run hot and cold but he is far from being the doghouse, unlike rosival. And ansimov is going to become a very good center for us, a very good 2nd line center is where i see him.

Thread premise is wrong and Buff is more immediately useful to the Hawks than either Girardi or Ansimov would be.

Any interest in Shaone Morrisonn? Not sure if the Caps would trade him, but he makes sense as a guy the team could trade (at least once everyone's healthy). 1.975(?), UFA after this season.

Depending on the standings come the deadline, Buffalo has two pending UFA defensemen in Lydman and Tallinder who have been to two Conference Finals and were key cogs in getting there. It depends on if the wheels fall off in Buffalo or not -- if they do, I expect them to both be on the move...

How would you like Mark Eaton with that return? Excellent playoffs for him last year, and he has been really good paired with offensive (skating) defensemen for us - usually Letang - whereas he struggles with Skoula now.
6.2/212, 1 goal, 3 assists, +4, cap-hit: 2 million. UFA after the season.
