Any offers for Oli Jokinen? Flames need a #1 centre
Jokinen is not cutting it, he is a terrible fit in calgary and he has absolutely no chemistry with our best forward. Hes a UFA this summer, what could the flames get for him if we dealt him?
1) Unless Jokinen picks up his jock strap and puts up 75pts from now till the end of the year and is a key contributer in the playoffs, chances of him getting offered a new contract this summer by Sutter is slim to none.
2) Backlund will most likely be with the club next year as a top 2 centre.
Either way Jokinen is not worth his 5.5m.
What about to LA for Derek Armstrong straight up?

Chicago is thin at centre right now and could always add a solid top 6 guy.
Maybe a Crawford(Backup for u, better than Mac), Versteeg Sopel like trade. No clue. Just throwing stuff out there.

Armstrong plays for St. Louis or their AHL team, not sure. And, you could probably get him for free.

I'm not sure but I think the op was making a joke about how little value jokinen had with the Armstrong suggestion. I'm not sure he actually wanted him to be the number 1 center.
Anyways I think that unfortunately there is no deal out there. Darry Sutter made the trade because he wanted size up the middle. Unfortunately it's not working out but any trade there is out there would likely leave them way too small at center.

Really. Wow what happened to him? He looked quite inspired last season, especially in the last few games of the playoffs. I agree. I think Calgary really needs a #1 center. Jokinen is at best, 2nd line for a contender like Calgary. In Florida he could pass as a first. Hmm who knows I think the best man to ask this question of is Jarome Iginla..

a couple things...
1) the OP is a troll... always crying that the sky is falling
2) Jokinen has struggled offensively so far but has not played poorly... he was trying too hard to be a playmaker and hasn't been taking the shots he needs to... there have also been articles in teh Sun talking about how Olli is working on his entire game because on a team this good he has to be a cog in the machine and not be the machine like the was in Florida
I am a Panther fan, who has seen Ollie play many, many games. He is not and never was a defensively responsible, playmaking center. He is a scoring center, who is an indifferent passer and who floats when he doesn't have the puck. He also doesn't like playing defense, but can be effective in spurts.
I think Oli would be useful to the Ducks, the Leafs, the Hurricanes and the Oilers.
I can't imagine what either of these teams would give up for him. Being an Oiler fan, the only things I'd want to see going to Calgary are things Calgary fans would never ever want on their team.

he is really trying to buy into the team first game here and is doing pretty well defensively so far... he is also not afraid to mix it up and defend teammates... and no one is mistaking him for a playmaking center... he is a scoring forward who can also make some plays, much like Iginla... his probably has actually been he has been passing too much and hasn't been taking any shots... once he starts shooting (like Iginla now has) they should be effective as linemates because neither is afraid to go in and score a dirty goal

And when was the last time these two clubs traded players???

Ya I'm always crying that the sky is falling, give me a break. If you don't like what I'm posting then GTFO with your too serious attitude. You have one of the worst attitudes on HF, oh look there's the ignore button!!! Thanks for reminding me to use it! Thanks bro!
