To Hawks
G Josh Harding

To Wild
G Antti Niemi
LW Billy Sweatt

Hawks get a young goalie with starter potential to push or take Huet's job.

Wild get a young goalie who has played well and could be a good #2 for many years and a good prospect playing in NCAA right now

Change Sweatt to Aliu and I think Minnesota would do it.

Aliu is too promising a prospect to move. I really think he will be on Hawks come next year.

I'd still prefer Harding + 3rd 2010 for Ladd. The Wild go nowhere with Havlat doing nothing, they need to try something new. Bringing in someone with success with him couldn't hurt. They aren't going to trade for a goalie downgrade + a mediocre prospect.

I don't think Minnesota would do this. They need a very good offensive prospect.

Obviously you've never seen Sweatt play if you think he is a "mediocre prospect". Guy is faster than...well...anything. I'm willing to say he's going to be a hot commodity one day in the NHL.

But Aliu is the better prospect. You have to give to get, and I think giving him up would be the deal breaker to getting Harding to the Hawks.

Yeah I would throw in Aliu to make that deal too. I like the Ladd deal better though. I think that fits both team's needs better. Obviously Ladd is already a good contributor at the NHL level so he would be better from the Minny side. The Hawks also won't be able to afford him next year and need to take a chance on someone like Aliu or Beach taking his place, so he will need to go anyway.
