Subway Super Series Discussion (formerly ADT Challenge)

Always one of my fav events.

Q Roster: http://www.adtcanadarussiachallenge.com/news.php?n=1229

O Roster: http://www.adtcanadarussiachallenge.com/news.php?n=1232

W Roster: http://www.adtcanadarussiachallenge.com/news.php?n=1236

Some interesting choices for sure, and it should be interesting to see who asserts themselves in this series. Not sure what the Russian roster will look like.

Russian roster hasn't been announced (there is the U20 4 nations now), but it should have Habs' Avtsin and hot prospect Nikita Dvurechensky

On paper, this looks like by FAR the most talented team Russia has ever sent over for the Super Series.

Anyone else surprised to find Dmitri Orlov's name absent from the Russian roster? Not to mention Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, Kabanov and Galiev.

Considering past rosters, not in the least. More so with the later two, naturally.

I knew in the past, Russians in the CHL would play in the two games in the leagues they are in...Anyone have heard they would play in the two Q games?

These rosters have never really made much sense. It's typically been B and C level prospects that they send over. The fact that someone's missing is probably a compliment to them if they are a legitimate prospect.

I was just coming in here to say the exact same thing.

Having our CHL star players trounce the Russian "selects" isn't really that much of an accomplishment in my eyes.

I'll be interested to see how Kitsyn does. He's one of my favorite prospects from this years draft.

It's always the debate! The Russians don't send over their best team, simply because players have commitments in other, more important leagues.

To send those players over for an exhibition tournament with little bearing on anything isn't of interest to them.

That said, it would be great if Russia viewed the event more as a chance to mold their WJC team and use it as more of a tune-up tournament!

Ya they are bucking the trend of using players from the CHL unless they plan on adding Fisenko, Sentyurin, Guskov, Molotilov, Berdnikov, Kabanov, Galiev..... too bad I was looking forward

Ughh...corporate sponsorship. Really sucks.

I'm surprised a company like Coca-Cola or Geico hasn't convinced the NHL to change the name of the Stanley Cup.......

yet.

so far love the bourque-vachon-dumont line, they bring a lot of energy and intensity also the 3 "C" line of cornet-cormier-caron had some good moment, they have some special chemestry together

That line could easily be team Canada's 4th.

Hall - Hodgson - Eberle
Seguin - Kadri - Kozun
Kassian - Schenn - Glennie
Cornet - Cormier - Caron

Nothing wrong with that at all, imo.

Updates on the game are very appreciated. Thanks.

not a big fan of cornet and caron on the 4th line role but those 3 together are really good

Gabriel Bourque (nashville draft pick) is winning himself an invitation to the december camp with his play so far imo

throwing some good hits ,a goal and always intense on each shift (could surprise in camp and could be a threat to della rovere )
