Do you enjoy watching your team playing against the habs?
Question im wondering, our crowd is pretty loud and compared to some amphitheater in the league its other wordly, whichever team you're a fan of, do you like playing against the habs when they are at home or you hate it?
You love the loud noise? Hate the boos? (depends on the team i guess) Would you like your team's crowd to be that loud?
How does it compare with your team's amphitheater?
As far as me, well of course I do! ... Seriously, I enjoy MTL-BOS games at the TD Banknorth. ACC is zzzzz, MTL-TOR games are usually more enjoyable when played at the Bell Centre.
I certainly Canucks fans were as loud as Habs fans, minus the boos. GM Place is always extremely quiet until a goal, fight, or great save happen.
Change the above to Leafs/ACC and I'd say the same thing.
Montreal-Toronto games at the Bell Centre are special, special nights. Even with the Habs fans and their taunts and what not it's always a really fun game; I have lots of respect for markets like Montreal who's fans are loyal and passionate, much like ours in Toronto - keep it up Habs fans, your a class apart.
Yea of course i dont want to turn this thread into a debate Habs vs the world, only use the habs as as an example because im following this team and its like my world, but yea other canadians cities are very loud also along with Chicago, Minnesota and tons others
But there is a VERY CLEAR difference for us habs fan (and other fans im sure) for a game Home vs Away and i wanted the input of fans maybe of those quiet crowds to give their opinion
I hate the Habs, I hate habs fans. I hate the ****ing ole oles, I hate the ****ing expensive and ****** beer. I hate the drunken idiots in the molson ex zone, I hate the bell center. I hate the stupid habs bricks outside the bell center, I hate the expensive and ****** beer. I like the ice girls in the ****** drunk tank.
I was blown away by the atmosphere at the Bell on Saturday. It was playoff atmosphere and then some...
And I was watching on TV from my couch!
Sure habs fans can be stupid sometimes as witnessed by the premature Goodbye song on Saturday. The Ole song is just part of the atmosphere that makes it so electric.
Yes, I think it's more fun to watch road games against the Habs. Like their building and they produce great broadcasts, cameras are in good position, good cameramen and production crew. And of course it's more fun to watch a game with loud fans.
I hate the Habs but I love the crowds in Montreal. Nowhere else comes close to the atmosphere. The booing of the players is great but the whining for a penalty every time a Hab falls down is stupid.

It's part of the deal with the Bell Centre... it's part of the fun. Having been to two games already this season, in the Molson Ex zone, I can tell you it's a blast. I think most people know most non-calls we boo aren't penalties, but remember, a person's IQ dramatically lowers when in a crowd. But I have to admit it's fun to boo and sometimes influences the refs.
I think a lot of us non-Habs fans still enjoy going to the Bell Centre because of the atmosphere in the building, even if your team isn't playing. I was there on Saturday and it was great. Leafs fans add a lot to the whole experience, though. And there may be fewer Leafs fans the next time Mtl-Tor play each other at the Bell Centre, since it's a mid-week game.
There are several moments when you take in a game at the Bell Centre where your hair can't help but stand up on your arms. There are a lot of things that are wrong with that building, with that team and with that organization, but it's still amazing to see a game live there. No doubt about it.
From a Gamecenter/TV PoV Habs home games are far superior most arenas. This boosts the players aswell when they feel the crowd is in it. Other teams(again, TV standpoint) with good home atmosphere are normally Caps, Hawks and Flames.
Love the volume, hate that they boo body checks or offsides (makes them look clueless) and hate the "we think we're European OLE OLE".
**** you talking about? it has nothing to do with clueless. 0. zero. and everything (irrational or not) to do with intimidating the refs, the visiting team, etc.
and yes like it or not, montreal is far and away the most European city in north america. it's a fact. the french language creates a level of insulation not seen in other NA cities. when cammaleri got here the first thing he talked about was the subtlety with which hab fans understand the game - something he had not witnessed in any other city...watch the ironic standing O crapaserek got for icing the puck
on saturday.
I was actually thinking while watching the Habs-Leafs game that even though I don't care about the home team i'd love to be at a game just to see that atmosphere.
