Harmlik is only back to where he once was, not really surprising for him
Where he was once LONG ago; he was never this involved offensively since joining the Habs, despite the fact he was a 40 point plus player a while back and even had a 65-point season.
This is the real Hammer. Markov's injury has brought out what we loved about him and more.
Plek beauce of the way he play, but also because he was able to shut up everyone that were saying that he should be traded asap and that he wasn't a legitimate 2nd centerman in this league.
4) Glen Metropolit - We all loved him down the stretch and in the playoffs last year, but no one expected him to lead the team in PPG through the first month of the season. We actually really missed this guy when he was sick, and he has stepped in where our other secondary scorers (Andrei Kostitsyn, Max Pacioretty, Matt D'Agostini) have failed. Great veteran, capable of playing in any situation.
3) Mike Cammalleri - Our main offensive catalyst this month, on pace for over 30 goals despite the team's slow start. The best pure goal scorer we've had in years. Tied for team lead in points.
2) Roman Hamrlik - Losing Markov till February in the very first game of the season was a huge blow. but Hammer has stepped up at both ends and become our #1. On pace for over 20 goals (not likely to happen, but great first month!), we're seeing the Hamrlik of the year before last defensively as well.
And IMO, our player of the month:
1) Tomas Plekanec - Like I mentioned for Metropolit, our secondary scorers behind the big 3 up front have had terrible starts. All of them EXCEPT for Plekanec, whose roll was thus crucial through the first month of the season. Showing that he doesn't need Kovalev to put up points, and could even set career highs this season... if only we could find him some regular linemates that are not grinders, and care to play. AND the guy is great on the PK too! Too bad it's a contract year for Tommy, but if we're to make the playoffs, he'll have to remain a big contributor.
