But, there will be a lot of attention there. The media will be buzzing. Several NHL club scouts will be in attendance.
They want to know if Peter Forsberg is still an elite hockey player.
Wait, don’t turn the page. Or, if you’re online, don’t click on another link. Yes, you’ve heard this before. It’s understood that you are tired of hearing about Peter Forsberg, his often-injured right foot and the notion that he might be coming back to the NHL.
But, this time, the cry isn’t “Wolf.” This time he really wants to play. This time he plans to prove the foot problems over.
Which is why the Flyers are dispatching European scout Ilkka Sinisalo to watch Forsberg.
And why not? With Simon Gagne’s health up in the air, Danny Briere’s groin a minor concern that could possibly become major, and the rest of the offense sputtering, the Flyers could use an offensive infusion that a healthy Forsberg could supply.

He'd go back to Avs wayyyyyyyyyy before he comes back to Philly. Sinisalo is already scouting in Europe so it does't hurt for Homer to have him take a look. But I doubt he comes to Philly.
I'm all for it. He has his naysayers, but we could really use the help right about now. Considering we don't need to deal any assets to sign him, if we get the chance to sign him, we do it.

Personally, I don't see him going back to Philly either. If going to a Stanley Cup contender is his main objective, I think he'll go to a place like Washington. If it's not, and he wants to go to a place where he's more comfortable and doesn't have a lot of pressure (like in '07), I see him coming back to the Avs. The start we've had can't hurt.

He'll come to NYC. It's where all the old Swedes come to wither and die.
Leave it to the Flyers to possibly re-sign a retread. Honestly, they need to give up on the Forsberg pipe dream and use the guys they've got to get through this hump. The whole will he/won't he play thing is something the Flyers do not need.
