Will Steven Stamkos reach Superstar status in his career?
He's off to a great start, 9 goals on the year including his tally tonight vs the Sens. Do you guys think he will emerge into a superstar in some point in his career?
He will be a superstar, 100 point seasons. Just look at his skill set, great shot, blinding speed and a great pass. He will without a doubt be a superstar and will, I think, have many 100 point seasons.
Someone compared his rookie season last year to Lecav's, and the stats were almost exactly the same. So they said that he would likely take the same path and start becoming a superstar. Hopefully Vinny gets back there too, I enjoy watching him play. He's one of those guys that can overwhelm you with skill, then hit you in the mouth afterwards, like Iginla and Doan.
Yeah I think he'll be a superstar. Not one of the top three stars in the league - Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, but definitely up there with Iggy, Datsyuk, Kovy, etc. I think he'll eventually surpass Lecavalier when Vinny starts to slow down, which a lot of people think could be starting to happen already. Vinny's the face of the Tampa franchise right now, but that title will belong to Stamkos in the future.

Im willing to bet when Stamkos is the face of the franchise it will no longer be in Tampa, they dont deserve a superstar like him the lower bowl looks half empty tonight.
And I think he will be a superstar at times, be a consistant 90pt player.
I really depends on what you mean by "superstar." In my book, there are only 2 superstars in the NHL right now. So no, Stamkos will never reach a par with Ovechkin or Sid.
But if by superstar you mean perennial all-star and a franchise player, sure.

Marty St.Louis is the face of the franchise. Stamkos has already passed Lecavalier.

Cry some more tool. Besides, if you want to see a team struggling that seems to consistently lose its best player every year, you should be pining for the Panthers.
Stamkos won't ever win the Art Ross, well, maybe once, but he will be top 10-20 a lot. He's going to be a great all-around player with a high point ceiling, think Crosby but with a little better shot...

What a profound reason for a team to not have a great player. Oxygen thief.
I think he will top out at about Vinny's level. He won't be mentioned with the Malkin/Sid/AO's of the world but still a pretty good player. Definitely a household name.
