I'm just wonderin what are your opinions on how a Stanley Cup Champs are made. What do you think are the 3 most important aspects of a Champ. It can be anything, from ability, coaching, fans, luck, grit, heart ande whatever the hell you want.
For me, I believe it's skill, effort, and leadership.
I know that there are more than 3 aspects to a Stanley Cup Champ, but what are your top three?
1 - At least 2 dynamic centers. And by dynamic, dynamic offensively or defensively.
2 - A high-quality netminder
3 - A pair of complimentary defensemen --- one dynamic PP QB/offensive type and another who can effectively log big minutes in any situation (high-quality if not Norris calibre)
Honorable mention - at least one quality finisher on the wing;
Ability to score more goals than opponent, players equipped with proper equipment, a home arena to play in...
There is no formula, for everyone who brings up said formula you can point to examples where that wasnt the case. Too many teams tend to ruin their chances in pursuit of this make believe formula.

EXCEPT EVERY TEAM NEEDS AT LEAST 15 NORTH AMERICANS BECUASE THERE TOUGH
1. Goaltending
2. Depth - you need guys on the 3rd and 4th line that can score too
3. Finishing ability - You need a team that can just finish other teams off and take advantage of every lucky bounce.
1. A team capable of overcoming adversity. If they've had some during the regular season, that helps.
2. A roster littered with leadership and self-starters.
3. Luck. Without it, no team has ever won the Cup.
You can build a team in a wide variety of ways, with a wide variety of systems, roster configurations, etc. Franchise goalie or two-goalie system, mobile blue-liners or intimidating defenders, high-octane offense or two-way forwards everywhere, etc.
As long as everybody is on the same page, you CAN win.
1. Low GA (just a nifty way to put hot goaltending and really good defense in 1)
2. Systems, coaching. I do believe that the coaching staff has a big part in a Stanley Cup winning team.
3. At least 2 productive lines
