Flyers interested in Shanahan? (update: Holmgren says "No." -- post #33)

If Flyers signed Shanahan who will be out? Pyorala, Carcillo, Asham, Powe?

Powe or Pyorala would be out since they have 2 way deals.(or both when Betts comes back)

I'd rather not both with Shanny though. I like our bottom 6 players

Too slow for ES play, and our PP isn't exactly lacking...which begs the question -- why?

Never hurts to be interested. With the injuries that can occur, I am not mad with my GM looking at anyone. Its not like we offered him a contract. I expect Homer to be out there investigating every possible deal.

Shanahan is like Forsberg-lite for the Flyers. He's been rumored to come here for years, including right before he was traded to the Red Wings.

He wants a top-9 role though. No one knows if he can do that at this point.

1 year ago i would of said yes on a minimum contract.
Present day i would say 100% no on any possible contract.

Anyways, I'd be pissed if we signed Shanny. Like someone else said, he's a shell of a shell of his former self. Our lower lines are perfect as is, no need to add Shanny to the mix (unless, for some reason, you think he'll do better then Lappy or Asham on RW).

I thought he was released from the Devils. It was so long ago that I don't remember for sure though.
